    Primers

Had exactly the same issue a couple years ago and I called CCI who had one of their tech's call me back within a couple hours. His direction was to seat the BR-4 primers 5-7thousandths below flush, and make sure that you feel the primer bottom out into the pocket and put a slight crush on it...

    " Common Sense" gun laws

Jmho They are wanting "common sense" gun laws. BUT, whose common sense???! Congress? Heck they are a completely clueless lot in both houses. They have no idea when it comes to problem solving. The Media?? They are just after ratings, and all about stirring up untruths, inaccuracies, and...

    6PPC: Fireformed, Annealed...starting load development....component shortage

Well..... I've never started out load development for a 6 PPC with a 450 or magnum primer. You may try to use the 450's if you're more comfortable with them, but reduce the loads from my previous post buy a couple tenths each and see what happens. And check your PM's. WD

    6PPC: Fireformed, Annealed...starting load development....component shortage

With what you have..... that I'm familiar with, start with cci 400's, H322 at about 27.8grains, 28.0, 28.1, and 28.2 in either 3 or 5 shots each (I'd go with 3 each at this point) with the Bart's 68's about .005 into the lands. Pick your best of 2 groups then seating depth, then neck tension...

    Australian 322

There are quite a few that use H322 around here. With a 68gr bullet such as you mentioned in your original post, the ones who use it usually start around 27.5 grains and work up to around 28.0-28.2grains. As far as temperature stability goes, it is an extreme powder from Hodgdon, for what...

    Australian 322

Some questions for you Is this Australian manufactured H-322? And is this for a 6PPC with a .237 bore? WD

Stolen BAT LV 6PPC Rifles... Help Request

Oh GEEZ I really hate to read stuff like that Jack. Someone that would steal like that is awful low on the totem pole as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully the Hotel has security footage of the thief(s) and the rifles are recovered in decent shape. Rifles like yours are difficult to duplicate...

6 PPC from 220 Russian Lapua

To the original poster on this thread Just a thought here based on zippy06's great advice and response..... The current NBRSA president, Jack Neary, is instituting a mentor program in benchrest shooting. He's located in northern Ohio and very approachable, and puts on some great shooting...

6 PPC from 220 Russian Lapua

Neck diameter on your reamer?? Do you know what the neck diameter is on the reamer that your gunsmith is using? Based on its dimension, you may only need a skim turn on the necks. Regarding the Norma brass, I've used an awful lot of it and know quite a few that do use it and have no...

Public SHOUT OUT to Whitney Morman!

It came out about 3 weeks ago when I got it. I agree with Randy that it was a great first magazine (with Lee's help). And it was a really nice article in there on her introduction. WD

    Winchester 748 and 6mm ppc

Just a club PPC shooter here too and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that "someone" doubtlessly did or has tried it outside of a controlled environment and found the 748 and the 6PPC to be relatively incompatible when subjected to day to day, region to region, and season to season...

    Winchester Small rifle MATCH primers??

Got a reply from Winchester on these (FWIW) Winchester responded via email that these are indeed Match primers. They have the same dimensions as the SR primers. The difference is they have a specific priming compound that provides better ignition and shot to shot consistency. And they are...

    Winchester Small rifle MATCH primers??

Appreciate the response, Thanks Butch. I guess I've lived a sheltered life or just plain not paid attention (which is probably the case here) :o, as I was on a site the other day and it had Winchester small rifle primers, and Winchester small rifle "Match" primers. I didn't know Winchester...
