    etch o matic

Etching depth? 0>003" or deeper? Saw some of the etched surfaces, and noted that in some of the comments items such as manufacturer, caliber, etc. were being marked. Was wondering if the etching was getting to or beyond the depth required by ATF when marking firearms? Believe it is .003"...

    OPPRESSIVE Freight Charges

Business mark up freight.... Pete, Couple of things may have happened, the low weight would have gone at the UPS minimum, figure a cost of anywhere between $3-6 to the shipper. 3 shot groups Hate to put it this way, but "rifle pro gunsmiths" shouldn't be relying on 3 shot groups to test their work... I'd suggest you have him look at it again.

    Free floating a Remington 541-s

Added 2nd (rear) receiver screw too Had mine bedded, vastly improved consistency... Gunsmith added a second receiver screw at the rear, and then pillar bedded. Much happier as it is now extremely consistent, and know what to expect out of it.

Question about recontouring a rifle stock with auto putties like Bondo.

Minwax = wood bondo Minwax makes a product that is designed for a filler for wood, that acts and smells just like good old auto body filler. Now I don't know if they have done something special to it so that it sticks better to wood, but I have used it in thick sections with no issues, which is...
