    Powder shortage

Well, at least we can walk into any gun shop in any town, big or small and buy as much as we want. :p

    Flavio Fare' Triggers

I have just bought one to run in my panda and will keep it at 1.5oz when it is running as a PPC but was wondering if they are able to be wound up to around 4-5 oz for which I like to use when it is screwed into my Dasher.

Rifle Accuracy Systems tuner / muzzle brake experience

RAS tuner brake I have tuners on 7 of my barrels (R.A.S, PDT, Shade tree and Davies tuners) and my new gun being built will also have a PDT tuner fitted. It is likely that some of my other low round count barrels will also have a tuner fitted at some stage. Most of my barrels are for F class...

    Spotting Scope Ocular Lens Swap

The scope did not come with an eye piece, but I have a few other types of fixed power eye pieces for it. It is just very slightly better picture than the other eye pieces, but really not a massive difference. It is the ease of use which I do notice. Yes, it will find 22 bullet holes at 100yds...

    Spotting Scope Ocular Lens Swap

I haven't fitted one to a Celestron, but I do have one in my Pentax 65mmHD. I have a few different eyepieces for the Pentax and as expected the image is nice with the Pentax XW14 eye piece, but the ease of use is better than most. Eye position is not critical and eye relief is decent when using...

    6PPC for F-Class????

I sometimes use my 6PPC for F Class. My PPC has never shot less than 300yds, which is the shortest distance my local F class ranges have. In light conditions it does very well at 300 yds and I use it for club days when I am trying to get wind reading/tactics practice. At 300-500 yds, you REALLY...

    Vern juenke machine

I have no idea how it works, but found the following interesting. A friend had a very accurate F Class 6BR which all of a sudden started to shot gun, same load, same bullet lots, primers etc, played around with loads for ages, then I Juenked his bullets and found they were shocking, 20-35 or...

I hear it's been snowing Stateside

Yep, its been perfect beach weather. I have temporarily given up shooting to become a beach bum.

Celestron Regal 100 F- ED 22-67x100 Spotting Scope

Has anyone compared one to the usual suspects such as Pentax 100mm or the various top end 80mm scopes? I will be looking at a new scope soon for spotting 6mm bullet holes at 600yds.

    Bullet Sorting

I think you might have your measurements mixed up. 10mm in base to ogive is .400" or nearly 1/2 inch while 3mm is still .120". Either of these measurements would cause MAJOR problems in different points of impact.

Maximum accurate barrel diameter for Heavy Gun

Thanks for the reply Charles E. By the sounds of it, I will stick with a standard 1.450" barrel. You are right, I didn't want to be doing too much experimenting and playing with this gun, just want to get it shooting as well as possible in as few rounds as possible. I get along well with the...

Maximum accurate barrel diameter for Heavy Gun

Jay, I didn't want to go with the bigger barrel unless there would be some benefit. I think the heavy guns get enough ooohhhs and aarrhhss as it is. Like you say, if most of the top heavy guns are 1.450", then there is probably a reason for it. Could it be the barrel being too rigid makes it...

Maximum accurate barrel diameter for Heavy Gun

I am having a Heavy Gun built for 1000yd BR and fly shoots in Australia. The barrel block is set up for 1.450" barrels, but could be machined bigger. Is there any point of no gains at a certain size? I know the local barrel manufacturers make 2" barrels which would be good for handle the heat...

WBC 13 - Sydney - Range and loading area pics

That's blasphemy, it is an "acquired" taste. The WBC was the first point blank BR comp I had watched and it was good to see how the best do it and catch up with a few of the shooters I have chatted with online. BTW, some of the 5 shot groups I saw were smaller than my 1 shot groups.:) It is a...

    Smarter Every Day

I did a much less scientific study than this when I was much younger. I found that if you propelled the cat downwards very very quickly, it could not spin around fast enough and still landed on its back.

Eric Bostrom Gunsmithing. Wow, what service!

My experience with them has been very good as well. I will certainly get more brakes and tuners from them.

    1000 yard BR stock options

Andy. I saw a few of the big Maxi trackers at the Canberra flyshoot and 1000yd BR last weekend. Might want to get onto some of the local Fly and 1000yd shooters to see if they have any for sale. I bought a used heavy gun stock and barrel blocks at the same shoot as I intend to start in HG as well.

    Magnetospeed Barrel Mounted Chronograph

I have most certainly used these and am in no hurry to go back to the old kind. I have used the barrel mounted ones at night time, bright sunshine and in the rain with good testing results. I only use it to check speeds and don't really get to shoot groups with it, but some say it does affect...

    After Precision Shooting...

I have been reading the Target Shooter UK E mag for a while now as well as the Precision Rifleman E mag. I just bought the September edition of Target Shooter UK today. You get a choice of using pay pal or using a credit card.
