    7. 08 to .284 win.

The 284 is best suited for a long action, even a short 700 has too short a magazine box. The 7-08 packs a pretty good punch for medium sized game, the 284 would be better if longer shots at elk sized game are on the menu. You could wildcat (shorten) the 284 to make it fit in the short action...

    Bedding-Glue in Life Questions

Doc, I've seen good bedding jobs come unglued much quicker. If the metal or stock isn't prepped properly, it's a sure thing in due time. Not all bedding compounds are created equal either. Some shrink, quite a bit, over time. No matter how good the bedding job is, solvents from cleaning can...

    islamofascists come to Europe!

Jerry, no offense taken. As I noted, I don't think all Muslim's are bad people, just the opposite actually. But these passages are preached by the Radical Muslims, every day. Whether you or I feel these things are taken out of context or not, matters little. These people preach hate, and use the...

    islamofascists come to Europe!

These people are not going away. If we don't take this to them, they WILL bring it here. The following passages are from the Qu'ran. Does that mean they are all evil? No, but watch the video for some perspective. (2:191) Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them (3:28) Muslims must not take...

    Mainville

Thanks guys, I didn't get home till late last night, so didn't get a chance to do much of a report. As usual, the match at Mainville was well run. We had a pretty good turnout at 33 for HV and 32 for LV. Conditions were fairly hot, with some switchy winds at times, but overall pretty decent. As...

Value of Taylor Robbins Benchrest rifle in .219 DONALDSON

A cool old rifle. Unfortunately, it has no practical purpose other than a conversation piece today. As noted, the scope and rings can bring a good chunk though.

In the Point die. The ring isn't created by the die though. It's created by the lack of support from the typical flat base punch.

n133 thrown charges at a match

What these folks are trying to tell you is that the only accuracy that is being left by thrown charges, is left at the bench. A finely tuned, winning, Group BR rifle will put them all through a little hole, even with the variation you quoted. Matter of fact, quite a bit more variation will still...

The "click" when extracting a case?

To a point, I agree. Lynwood's die's are great, and as you noted, he stands behind his stuff 100%. I've got lots of Harrell's products adorning my loading room as well as trailer. But, you had better make sure you send him "clicky" brass if you want to cut right to the chase. I've seen a bunch...

The "click" when extracting a case?

I personally use custom FL dies that take care of everything in one pass, don't matter how hot you shoot. If your FL die won't keep the click away, you got the wrong die. This is the most costly route to go, but the best IMO. For the situation that you have, there's no reason to get a custom die...

Any reports on the new 30 BR powder?

Ever tried going hotter with 4198 with the PPC? In sub 75* temps, I've been pretty successful running significantly hotter than that. Any warmer, and no luck... In the 30's RE7 will shoot, as well as N130. I sold the last of my RE7 to Pete as it just burns dirty compared to 4198 and N130...but...
