    The Parallel Node, Calfee

If you tune a CF rifle by adjusting the load to find the sweet spot, is a tuner needed? Mark

    Kathy, from a previous post:

Dang Bill, I always saved your articles for a time when I could give them my full attention. Don't tell anyone, but I'd actually grown to enjoy your writing style. You will be missed. Mark Snider

    Head cheeze, Calfee

Souse - Y'all Yes, for some reason the south calls it by it's Dutch name - souse. And as with many German foods, vinigar can be added. I hear it is also good melted into hot grits (if you like grits). Mark

cant i make my own 10/22

If you want an accurate 10/22 and are good with your hands and have some common sense, it should be fun. But for what you will have invested, I'd put my money into a decent bolt action or an AR15 22 RF upper. Mark

    wanting a 40x

Davis is great to work with. For the 40X I built a year and a half back we used a Lilja tight bore. You might also ask Gene about a light firing pin. Mark

    OK enough already!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Given my other current hobby is chasing little white balls around a pasture using 13 clubs, you will have a hard time convincing me shooting is stupid. Mark

40X Firing Pin Tom, I'd check with Gene Davis. He installed the light weight firing pin in my 40X RF. Mark

    It's starting

Winter is over; what does Punxsutawney Phil know anyway. To counteract his Saturday prediction of 6 more weeks of winter, I whipped up two batches of varmint stew and some spring tonic (sassafras tea) for the crew's lunch at work today. With a little rice and French bread, we celebrated the...

    Several Calfee Guns For Sale

Dang, you are on to something. Shooting the rifle upside down solves the 12/6 o'clock firing pin ignition problem. It also makes a right port gun into a left. Genius, pure genius... Mark

Ammo Costs, etc.. is it time?????

... and anyone who reads knew it was going on and knew we'd have to pay the piper. So while our overpaid government is imposing Sarbanes-Oxley on honest companies and driving up our costs because they failed to keep an eye on the rotten ba...rds stealing from the pension funds, they are...

    Cabin Fever

Catching Up on Stuff this Weekend Yep, the Saturday and Sunday matches were cancelled due to cold and she who must be obeyed is not around to give input. Cut an old recoil pad apart, filed off the rubber and glue from the spacer, and installed it on a restored 40X 308 match rifle to get a hair...

Ammo Costs, etc.. is it time?????

I've seen exactly the same in smallbore prone with Wolf Target; great groups but once in a while a low 9 at 6 o'clock. (different targets?). I have not had one bad round (knock on wood) from the current lot of SK Match. Mark

Help me to bed my 54.

If you have access to a drill press installing the pillars is easy, and they actually simplify the rest of the process if you do it in the 3 steps I mentioned. Contoured pillars are nice, but not a necessity. You can buy aluminum pillars, shorten them with a hacksaw, dress them up with a file...

Help me to bed my 54.

I would add or clarify a few items: 1) The recoil lug in a bedded Anschutz is optional 2) Use a paste wax under a film release agent as a backup 3) I bed in three steps to simplify alignment and to minimize the mess 4) I use masking tape to clamp the action in the stock. Be careful how much...
