Any reports on the new 30 BR powder?

Two comments: Why? and Good Luck...

Convincing gun club to allow wind flags to be placed like BR matches do.

I've been a member of clubs with, and without RSO's present at the ranges. At one of them, the range was gated and locked, so no one could even get to the line unless an RSO was there. The other has several different rifle/pistol ranges on the property that are open to members whenever they wish...

    alternate chambering question

It's surprising to me to hear that so many set the headspace with the reamer. First, I rough in the tenon, then I deep chamber by .010 or so, polish the chamber, and then set headspace with the carriage when I face the shoulder. I use a dial indicator, and getting my chambers to the same depth...

TWO SHOOTERS SHOOT 250 25x AT TOMBALL

It doesn't really matter. You both shot 25 X's. Can't ever take that away from either of you. I think I remember it happening a few years back in a IBS registered match, but only once that I recall.

TWO SHOOTERS SHOOT 250 25x AT TOMBALL

Thanks, although I'm a bit confused. The rule reads as though total wipeouts is the tiebreaker, but in another thread, coondogkid posted that the other shooter had 19, and you had 17? Just a typo?

Thinking of trying something to add weight

I took in an old McMillan stock long ago that had exactly what you are talking about, only the block was made of brass. It weighed exactly 3 lbs.

TWO SHOOTERS SHOOT 250 25x AT TOMBALL

Unless something has changed, IBS rules allow a tie for multiple 25X scores. Wipeouts are never used at the range level to determine anything. I was just curious if the rules in NBRSA score were different.

TWO SHOOTERS SHOOT 250 25x AT TOMBALL

So, wipeouts were used to determine a winner by creedmore? Is this normal in a NBRSA score match?

BR Nationals compared to Sporting Clays Nationals.

Your comment on never being to a BR match...neither had I until I showed up at one and started asking questions. I've been reloading since I was 18 or so, and my interests quickly shifted into the rifle accuracy side of it. I played, and tweaked this and that, until I could get the best i could...

BR Nationals compared to Sporting Clays Nationals.

No real incentives from the manufacturers Benchrest has never been Big Time for this reason. All of the competitive shooting sports that thrive, do so through backing by large manufacturers. They aren't doing this for pride, they do it as an investment. We simply don't have that in BR. If we...

    Bix 'n Andy action?

Yes, two lugs in each position. Still looks to me like there may be 4 positions...maybe

    Bix 'n Andy action?

Very interesting. It looks to be a 4 lug design, but with a 90* bolt throw. Also the firing pin assembly is a multi-piece affair. I remember a guy showing up at Kelblys a few years back with a floating head firing pin assembly. I think Bart was working with him to work out the bugs, but I guess...

Berger Doing More to Support Short Range BR

Sorry, but this just rubs me the wrong way. Price gouge for years on end, with no competition. When J4 was the only game in town, we couldn't get them reliably anyway. Shooters have been dropping out of the game at an alarming rate. Ya' think it might have been because they couldn't get any...

    New Bullet Jacket Business

Obviously you're well read, but your post is directed to someone who makes his living making bullet die's....lol

    Sad news

Wow, what a shock. Very sad to here this news. Bob was a great competitor and I always enjoyed sharing some laughs with him at the match. We are diminished.
