Gun cleaning techniques when using HBN coated bullets.

Don, I'm not really one to pass............ as one who has found out the "right way". I've applied the hBN using alcohol to the barrel. Matter of fact, I have a small Dewey's bottle w/dissolved hBN in it on my workbench right now. That application seems to hold it in the bore adequately, and...

Is There Such a Thing as a GOOD Shooting Related Movie?

Saw two well choreographed movies this week-end, "Equilibrium" and "Ultraviolet". The Choreography in both was really superb, I liked them for the effects, too.

    Barrel Twist Article

I just skimmed it.................. and it has an easy drift to it, and should be well received, especially to those starting out who haven't yet started looking at the articles in the loading manuals and trying to figure them out. I would ask you to read the last sentence, though, I was...

    Odd problem with a trigger

That problem Stonewall refers to in line three............... has been cured since I started using this: http://www.metal-wear.com/ Wrap it and pad it well, pay the shipping, and drop in 5 bucks. It's the cheapest fix I've found. It works. And if you can install and adjust a trigger by...

    Gunsmith for a living

Vern, if you want to be a.......................... gunsmith, find out if your local community college has a machinery program, lots of guys do that, and learn to run machinery and think about how YOU would do something that you've picked up to admire. You might also think of learning to do...

    STONER AR-10 Serial No 002

Very interesting.............. I saw a silent clip once of an infantryman, (may even have been filmed on the California coast long ago), emerging from the surf while firing one of these, but I believe it had a synthetic stock, one of the later Dutch-produced examples. There was no doubt...

    6 mm remington

The bullets I'd investigate are............ Hornady's 75 and 87 V-Max, and Sierra's 75gr. Blitzking; 80gr. Blitz; or, as an all arounder the 85gr. BTHP as long as deer are shot ONLY behind the shoulder. As far as powder is concerned, since what you have on hand is a tad fast, I'd look at...

A very good site is........ Here: http://www.metal-wear.com/Brake%20Wear%20on%20Komatsu.html These photos exhibit the difference of extreme heat and friction on rotors that have and have not been treated using the vacuum-insulated process. Similar to, but not as severe as the same forces in...

How far can you see bullet holes?

ANDY CROSS, You may want to investigate Chelation Therapy (key-LAY-shun) it may help you significantly. It may show you an improvement in as few as 10 treatments, or it may take 15-20 before you notice a difference, because everyone responds individually.

    Hornady v max bullet

I developed a 7/8" load for a friend's TIKKA in .270. He shot one deer behind the shoulders at about 150, said it did a good job, but I believe it was a 110 HP.

Is There Such a Thing as a GOOD Shooting Related Movie?

There are a couple I liked..................... Get the "Director's Cut" of "The Wild Bunch", its supposed to be almost all of the original movie. I liked "Dirty Harry", I'd read the book, and when the movie came out, I convinced all my friends to go see it, even though I hadn't :D I remedied...

    Any Experience with 222 Remington?

I never had a "target" 222...................... but the nostalgia bug bit me pretty deep and hung on. When I was a teenager, a now long-gone neighborhood adult let me shoot his .222, it was a Marlin 322 heavy barrel(SAKO receiver), and I collected my first varmint with it. I still have MY...
