I have made up a 219 zipper with a shilen barrel 1-9" twist on a 336 action and it shoots good with 24-26gr varget and 40-50gr bullets,I am not one to play around with powder weights that are not in a manual, I would like to try to shoot some speer 70gr bullets to see how they shoot but can,t find any load data for 70gr in the zipper, probably because the original zipper only had a1-14 twist.I was wondering if anybody could give me a starting load for varget, Thankyou Steve!!

The old .22 Hi Power and the Zipper have similar case sizes and the Hi Power was loaded with 70 gr bullets, although .227's instead of .224's. Since the Zipper case is slightly shorter, you could probably go with Hi Power starting loads reduced maybe 5%. Hornady's manual only shows 4198, RL-7, and 3031 powders though. At the pressures the Zipper operates at Varget might be a bit slow. As Brian suggests calling Speer or maybe Sierra or Hornady would likely be the best idea.
