    222 Rem / 250 neck - - Would this be a no turn neck?

I'm not home to measure a round but I think this would be a no turn neck, or is it?

Put on a new barrel For under $400 you can get a Shilen barrel and your Savage would be better than new.

    17-222 starting load data needed

I just got an old Sako L461 chambered in 17-222. The dies are stamped 69 so I think it has been around quite a while. Would anybody have any experience with this? I would appreciate some starting load data if you have any.

Is a bolt stop a must have?

I have an old 700 in .222. I came across a Shilen trigger that I would like to put in for a while just to see how it shoots with a good trigger. The trigger has no safety or bolt stop. Would it be unsafe to do this without putting a bolt stop of some sort on the rifle?

When is a recoil lug required

I just noticed I just noticed a couple months ago that my 6PPC doesn't have a recoil lug. I don't shoot competition. I bought it used and it does shoot way better than I can. It is an XP-100 action with a Shilen barrel, glued into a bench type stock.

    New Savage 22-250

I've had good success with Varget and the 50 VMAX In my 12BVSS 22-250 36 - 36.5 gr Varget all shot good with the 50 VMAX & the 1410 Sierra 52 HPBT match bullet. Not the hottest load but very accurate in my rifle.

    Rifle Basix Sav-2 trigger

Interesting. I put a Sav-2 in my 112 FV in .223 a couple years ago and it is very nice, I don't remember exactly what it is set at now. I don't think I got it down to 4oz though. I'll have to check, I think it is about 6oz with very little movement. I put a newer Sav-2 in a friend's new...

    savage 204 lrpv

I'm just a rookie too but I used JB Weld This is only the 2nd rifle I have ever tried to bed. I used JB Weld and I put Kiwi shoe polish on the action and barrel to keep it from sticking. I also drilled several small holes in the aluminum bedding block so the JB Weld would stay for sure...

    savage 204 lrpv

All good advise so far I bedded mine, don't tighten the rear screw very much. I also sanded that black stock smooth and painted it. Now it is much slicker and slides consistently on the bags. It shoots 28.2grs of Varget and 39gr Blitzkings pretty good now. Use a manual and work up your...

    expectations to high ?

I had to bed my LRPV and it weighs a ton Mine is a 204 and didn't seem to shoot as good as my other 2 Savages, a 223 and a 22-250. One a 112FV, the other a 12BVSS with no work except lighten the triggers. I bedded it and that cut the groups in half plus it is much more consistent. Previously...
