    Lt-30

Be careful I went to a score match preloaded with LT30 once and had to stop and go home. I developed a load that was great at 58 degrees, but by the time we got started at the range it was 75. Was blowing primers, heats up real fast. Ill just use it for fire forming until gone. If you want a...

Minor Correction On the attached sign up sheet there is need for a minor correction. The total cost of shooting is incorrectly listed as $360.00. The correct amount is actually $345.00. If anyone has mistakenly paid too much, we will reimburse the shooter at the time of the match. Many...

    Michigan Benchrest Competitor Jim Hutchison...

I don't know what to say. Jim was such a good friend. He and Larry Gage, Pat Canning and I were all at the first match at Harrison with Dick Wright back in like 91 or 92. It was my first benchrest match, and I believe it was for the others too, except Dick. Jim was always a tough...

    Long ago

Bill, You know I'm always playing with those 6.5s. I would like to see how you do with that set up. Depending on the length of the bullet, you may need a tighter twist. I have been using a 12 for my bullets that are about an inch long. If you are using bullets over an inch long, you may...

are there/is there any 6.5's that are competitive in short or long range br ?

Just saw this thread and thought I would comment. I broke my ankle recently, so I am sitting at home recovering for a few more weeks. I have done more work with the 6.5 than most anyone that I know of. Had some good luck earlier on, like Randy said, with a 6.5 BR, 12 twist Krieger, my own or...

    Vern juenke machine

I have not read the whole post yet, so maybe I am repeating something. I have noticed that the back of the bullet holder that keeps the bullet from moving forward and back rests against the outer edge of the base of the bullet and not the precise middle. Therefore, if the base is slightly...

Has Anybody Built, or Seen, a Sporter Based On The New Provisional Rule?

Sporter Stock design is just one of the things that we can learn more about with this new design freedom. I also believe there is yet a lot to be learned about barrel harmonics. Has anyone noticed that the faster we try to drive bullets, the harder it is to keep the gun in tune? Is this...

Is It Time To Switch to a 22

Why stop at 22? I have been working with a .20 - .160 short PPC. The little thing shoots real good and surprisingly little recoil. Using the 40gr. Berger BT and 8208 powder it likes anything from 3460 to 3550 fps. It sure shoots a lot of small groups, even at 200 yds.

    Bullet Seating

ekp, Yes, you are correct in assuming that the rim of the case will not go all the way into the seating die. I like to trim mine so that the case is outside the bottom of the die about .005 in. Wilber is also correct in his advise, don't worry about any measurement except the length of the...

    Bullet Seating

We have had quite a discussion on this subject, but I ask you to consider what is most important here. I will answer the question first, then tell you why. The distance from the shoulder to the ogive of the bullet where it will touch the lands is the correct answer. What happens when the...

    Sporter Class Specs.

OK. I believe I understand the details. I have a few ideas that I think will work. Thanks for the info. The next part of the question is, will there be any Sporter matches other than the Nationals, which I may not be able to attend? What is the use of making a new rifle if it cannot be used?

Does anyone know if the changes in the Sporter class were approved and if so what are the details?
