    Don't you just hate it........

I agree Boyd. Good writing for the most part is a thing of the past, at least in the informative nature. Kids in college learn how to write beautiful script that says nothing. Its just for pure entertainment.

    Barrell tuners...

Thanks for all your replies. I will have to look into a tuner when I get back into the sport................ It does make sence to be abke to change the tune at the line, like Jackie said. It would also cut down on the number of shells you have to unload because your load changed again :)

    Barrell tuners...

I've been reading threads here for sometime now but haven't posted in this forum because I haven't shot benchrest in the last 2 years, but I am curious just how many people are using barrell tuners now? Is one pretty much required to be competitive or is there something else that helps other...

    Jb bore paste

Along with what Keith just said, if your groups are verticle your powder charge is too light. You know you're too hot when the group just blows up and shots go everywhere. I also agree with shooting 3 shot groups in place of 5 shot groups. It took me a coulle years to believe this is better but...

    Jb bore paste

My guess is if you are shooting groups as large as 2.5 inches at 100yds you have another problem besides the barrel. I have an old Springfield in 30-06 that will shoot groups half that size and the barrel on it is pure junk. As for using JB paste. I use it on my benchrest 6PPC and the Borescope...

Step to work up a good load

The first and most important thing is to select a bullet suitable for the game you are hunting. This excludes plastic tip bullets for deer size game and larger. I found some old "Silver tip" bullets that I inherrited from my Dad for .308. These in my opinion are very reliable for taking a deer...

    Muzzle loaders for hunting ......

Last year I bought a new muzzle loader with in line ignition. Its a Thompson .50 caliber Omega. Something interesting I found while testing the loads on a chronograph is that any powder charge over 110 grains does nothing to increase velocity. I use Pyrodex and sabots with Hornady 240 grain...

Are you objective about car wheels???

I like the silvers omnes better, but a straight on shot of the car would make it easier to tell. Kind of hard to see side ways

    Savage Rifles From Walmart

I bought a SAvage 22 Mag a couple years ago. It shot good but the magazine wouldn't feed for crap. I gave up and took it back. Bought a Marlin and it works good and shoots good. Before you lay out $1000 for a Remington, you'd better find out which model is preferred by hunters. Don't go for the...

    Reloading

I first learned reloading reading Lyman and RCBS manuels. The RCBS reloading dies have very good step by step info, but thats not enough. You need to learn why you are doing what you do and why the order is important. You also need to learn about reading pressure problems before you blow up that...
