    30br-Dasher

i know this is an old thread but I couldn't find anything new about the .30 Dasher. i am having one built, I have a couple 6mm dashers and have the reamer for that and will use it for the .30 Dasher, the Wilson Dasher Nk die works for .30 cal so I'll use that, I still need to make a full size...

    greasy .22lr ammo ?

the greasy ammo was Lapua Pistol King, it didn't shoot nearly as good as Lapua X-Act that's clean and dry. so I'll stick to X-Act even if it's ridiculously expensive, and use some cheap and clean ammo for plinking...

    greasy .22lr ammo ?

this wasn't wax on the ammo, it was like it was spray lubed with case lube, when loading the magazine my hands got oily so I needed to wipe them on a rag with asetone before I could shoot.. i don't mind getting my hands dirty but I do mind when it comes down to my guns, they must be clean at...

    greasy .22lr ammo ?

I just bought a Sig Sauer P226 X-five 9mm with a .22lr kit, this is my first pistol so I'm not sure what is normal and what is not.. I have a .22lr single shot rifle and had some ammo for it that I grabbed with me to the range to try all the .22lr rifle ammo that I had was clean and dry, I also...

    Starating with 6mm XC

I have a Bat-B in 6XC and Dasher, after shooting both calibers from the same rifle with all the same case prep and reloading jargon I found the Dasher to be much easier to find a good load for and it shoots way better than the 6XC, shooting at par with my 6ppc at 100m and shooting .400" at 300m...

    full length sizing

I never size my brass, I only use Wilson neck die on my 6ppc, Dasher and .308, all have custom chambers, all cases are turned and trimmed to perfect fit, change in dimension on cases are less than .0000x since I can't measure any changes between firings, except neck dimension that increases...

Tactical style LR hunting rifle caliber

one day I will go to Williamsport to shoot but it's a 10.000 mile trip so it might be a couple of years until I get there, I live in Iceland and a trip to Williamsport will cost me around 5k

Tactical style LR hunting rifle caliber

I only shoot 5 shot groups, never shot a 10 shot group but I guess it will be a little bigger than the 5 shot group... and any good shooter with a decent rifle will outshoot a noob with a railgun ;)

Tactical style LR hunting rifle caliber

anything is possible, I've only shot it once at 1000y and that group was 2.037" so I know it's capable of doing that, repeating it will be hard but not impossible, just need the right weather for it... shooting .150" at 100y is much easier, this rifle is built with the same precision as my 6ppc...

Tactical style LR hunting rifle caliber

since this rifle was built for hunting and long range shooting I only have a few groups at 100m most for load testing, but the average with my good load is around .150" the world record at 1k is 1.47" if I remember correctly. and .3" at 600y

Tactical style LR hunting rifle caliber

I would go with the .308, you have the option of using heavier bullets for bigger game, a very accurate caliber with more reloading components available than you could ever use, and all the data you want is available since there is nothing unknown about the .308 this is my .308, shot the...

ATF requirements for home made suppressors

you have some strange firearms regulations in the USA, anyone can own a gun but not a suppressor.. a suppressor is just a metal tube, some shins and springs.. most plumbers have everything needed to build a suppressor in their toolbox. here in Iceland we have extremely strict regulation about...

    Covered Rifle Range Firing Line

the openings should be smaller as the size can cause problems on windy days, the house is divided in to 3 parts each with 6 tables , rifles with brakes are only allowed in one section, barrels do extend outside, shooting a rifle with the barrel inside is not allowed as the noise level is way to...

    Covered Rifle Range Firing Line

this is my club, SR in Iceland, sitting outside is not an option here so we have a house built over our range with openings for each table, all tables work for both left and right handed shooters, we have 18 tables in this house, the range is 300m. the noise level is high but ear protection is...

    Reloading the 6ppc

I'm shooting 28.4gr N133 behind Barts ultra 68gr, it's enough to shoot 499/500 at the nationals and land me 2nd place ;) 100+200m score my chamber and my die have exactly the same dimension, the only thing that expands is the neck and only by .002

    best way to cut cases

lol.. this forum needs a "LIKE" button :P

    best way to cut cases

just a regular tube cutter that plumbers use, the smallest one will probably work best, then you just use a power drill with case holder to spin the case. you will ned to run it through an expander after cutting since the cutter pushes the edges inwards.

POI change by adding .5grs to load

adding .5gr to an accurate load might shift POI in some direction, most likely random directions since the load will not be accurate anymore. I use the same load for 100, 200 and 300m with my ppc, 28.4gr N133 behind Barts Ultra 68gr for my .308 I use the same load for 100-1000m and it's...

    Questions RE: Painting Stock

you do not have to remove action from stock before painting the stock, it is better though. removing barrel and triggerguard is enough. i recently had my stock painted by an airbrush artist, the cost was close to $1000 but worth it...
