    Which rear bag

Actually, I prefer a rather flexible bag with bunny ears or mid height ears and no flat. Bob Adamowicz designed that R&M pattern stock in the late 70's and I made a number of rifles on his pattern (which was made of Kevlar). Then when Bob became disinterested, I got his permission to produce...

    ? chucking up a barrel ?

Lee Keep in my mind that you should keep the two methods separate. Do not try to use a Grizzly or range rod in throat area with a busing on it and also dial in the muzzle end. The range rod and grizzly rod in my experience only work when you do as Gordy describes-otherwise you will be getting...

    ? chucking up a barrel ?

Eddie yep-that might work-or a rod that has a ball and socket that is extremely tight fitting like the old floppy indicator rods (not their real name-this aging mind just having hard time remembering their name tonight) Jim

    ? chucking up a barrel ?

I am still trying to wrap my mind around indicating throat and muzzle and then the pre bore and the eccentricity effects and angular effects-versus a reamer with snug bushing that is following a bore to yield a throat that is concentric over the length of the throat and the bore ahead of it...

    ? chucking up a barrel ?

Boyd I am well aware of the effect of doubling the length of the rod-but that does not take away the fact that we are inducing strain in the rod. I "grabbed" the tip of the rod with the "end" of the jaws-but that still does not give you a rotary joint. Bob's comments also address that...

    ? chucking up a barrel ?

I am not intending to "stir the pot" here. Just want to offer some thoughts on a little experiment I did. For giggles and grins I did a little experimenting with the rod method on a barrel with curved bore last night and this morning. One of the things that has bothered about the long or short...

    6PPC and 30BR using the same receiver/bolt

Opened up versus manufactured behave differently Keep in mind that "opening" a ppc coned bolt to 308 bolt face will act differently than a 308 bolt face with coned bolt with extractor already set at ppc height. The depth of the counterbore in bolt face is different-which most often makes the...

    Am I gettin' Senile?

Be careful-sounds like your cases are actually too long for the chamber and you are getting a crimp at the mouth.
