BAT Action Prints / Drawings

I e-mailed a request to BAT two months ago requesting action drawings for SB and RL actions as I had at the time builds planned on both.

I didn't recieve a reply.

Ive completed the build on the RL without problem.

However, the SB has a hooded section forward of the actual reciever face (giving a false impression of action length) and I want make sure I get the measurements 100% correct for tenon length as I will not be able to see the fit when the action is attached to the barrel.

(I am also fitting a fluted barrel to this, so will have some fiddling to do to get the flute aligned as I want them)

The action is a .473" bolt face.

Does anyone have a copy of an SB action print that can be e-mailed please?

The tenon length is the same as the Major thread dia. which is 1.060. The cone angle is 25°, NOT 30°. Hope this helps. Check your PMs.............Jan

I know we are all into helping each other in this sport-but actually asking a manufacturer for their drawings so you can make a copy of their product! This is priceless!

;)

You can do what I did and buy an action. Take all the dimensions you need.
Then if you are successful, your can sell the action or use it if not.

Asking the wrong question?

Jim, I may be reading this wrong, but I think he just wants the tenon drawing. I wouldn't expect most action makers to provide action drawings.

Andy, If you asked for action drawings when what you need is the tenon dimensions, try asking for the barrel tenon drawings. This sounds like a simple misunderstanding to me.

I have the drawing from BAT for the SB Barrel tennon. It's in a .pdf format if any of you need it, I can email it if need be. As far as the "Hood" if your using a 1.200" LV taper, you'll be fine as it never touches the ID of the hood.

Head Space is 1.073" to 1.075"
Tenon length/diameter 1.060"/1.060"
18 tpi
25 degree cone
Thread pitch diameter with a Starret #585 14-18 thread mic is 1.024" max

LOL!! I read it this way the first time too.....

BUT, that said, anyone who asks for drawings with action IN HAND is kinda' asking for confusion ain't he? What earthly good is a set of drawings when you have the artifact? Easier to keep notes on?

anyway

lol
