Harlan Hoffer Passes

I just saw an obituary here in our local (Lock Haven PA) paper that long-time benchrest shooter Harlan Hoffer died at age 75. In fact, the obit mentioned his involvement with benchrest. He lived in the Lancaster, PA, but was from Jersey Shore, PA.

I remember Harlan from years ago, but do not know when he was last seen on the circuit. I did not know him well, but he was always a friendly competitor with a wide, ready smile. I recall he worked for Hatfield Meats and he always wore one of their ballcaps.

Condolences to Harlan's family. He was a gentleman and was a good competitor. He has continued to support the Charity Classic with his checkbook even though he has not be in the health to attend. Just an example of the character of this fine man
