barrel length for maximum velosity in 6.5x47L

I remember this artical, or at least one like it. If I remember they started with 40" blanks and cut them down an inch or two at a time. Don't know the calibers tested. The two things I remember...and remember well is this.....The longer the bbl the higher the velosity, And....and this really...

    Powder scales

Since I don't know how to do the whole pole thing, I'll just ask: What do you use to measure your powder......a balance beam or electric? Which brand of each. My super old 505 RCBS is on it's last legs....and I really don't trust it much any more. I throw a charge from my dispencer and...

    Fort Pierre Match #3 cancelation

I am going to assume that the Sunday (the 12th) match is also cancled. It was supposed to be a two day shoot, wasn't it?

    2011 IBS Nationals

Intentions are high. Well..pretty high, anyway. Looks like I am going to miss a lot of the Harris shoots, so I would like to make it up by hitting the nats.

    South Dakota 600 results

You know what they say..."divorce is hell". Oh wait...maybe that was just me. Just kidding.....I had my boys this weekend. Plus, I had nobody to fill in at the shop. Just couldn't swing it. I hope to get down there at least once this summer, though.

    South Dakota 600 results

I have not seen any results or "attaboys" on any of the websites concerning the South Dakota 600 shoot last weekend in Pierre. They were suppose to shoot two days because of the cancelation in April. I inquired over at 6br but got ziltch. Anyone...Anyone....Bueller...Bueller....

    1000 yd flags......

So why was that not allowed at the last three IBS 1000 yard national events? You could request to not be on the same relay, but you may end up shooting 7 benches down, three relays later. You had to move your equipment. The reason I have some concern about this ruling is that I have a 12...

    1000 yd flags......

How did we go from "put the flags at the height of the bullets path for 1000 yard shooting" and "it would be nice to see what the wind was doing where my bullets are" and "again why not put the flags where the bullets are" and "the flag will be aprox EIGHT FEET above the line of sight" to "THE...

    1000 yd flags......

So, you are not going to take into account that 6 moa left to right wind (which by the way, kills your 'middle of the bench" theory) that lays down mid match when a front moves in. Or the fact that the same front may well switch the wind direction 180 degrees, and blow HARDER!! I realize that...

    1000 yd flags......

One question..and maybe it was covered....who decides which is your "shooting lane"?

    1000 yd flags......

G7 bc and G2 bc are two compleatly different things. You can not take a g7 bc of say 280 and put a 280 g2 bc bullet in the same mix.....it's apples to oranges....if you are going to use g7 bc for one you need the g7 bc for the other, and vis versa. Or your program needs to know the differance...

    1000 yd flags......

Again...first off the guys who request to shoot oppisit relays still need to be drawn for bench assignment. You may be on bench 4 in relay one, but the guy sharing your equipment is supose to be put in a draw also. If you have 20 benches, the odds of the guy sharing with you getting the exact...

    1000 yd flags......

First off, since when are we allowed to "request a bench" for any reason...bench assignments must be drawn. Second, the rule is below the flight of the bullet....but maybe my bullet is WAAYYY flatter than yours...you must also be below MY bullet flight, also, and maybe I am shooting a .375 cal...

If you are not allowed to place the flags that high, why are you doing it?

    dasher..bullet weight/velocity for 1k

As far as I have seen, my dial ups for my 300 wby with 210 bergers at around 2950 is almost exactly the same as my dasher at 3040. If you are good with the 30, you will be good with the 6mm. I just checked the I6 program.....within 3 inches at 1000 yards.

    Powder charge

Just made a call...no bullets available for at least three months. :( Oh well. Maybe next year. Unless someone wants to let a hundred go.

    Powder charge

Ok..to continue the hyjac.....how about 1-11 300 WSM and the 187 bib? Am I getting close? The original tube in my HG was a 1-11 Kreiger that eveidently was shooting the bibs, but had been re throated for the 210 vld. Not sure why the gun came up for sale. I'm sure , like most, he got tired...

    Powder charge

BIB's website states "not recomended for twist rates faster than 11.25" for the 187's. All but one of my 30 cals is 1-10. I would like to give them a shot, but don't want to waist the time/money if the twist is wrong. Also, how often are the 187's available. Can I get them whenever I want...

    Another dumb question.

There, that title usualy brings em in!!! Here is my delema. I have two Time Precision Supertuners. Both are drilled to fit a Rem varment contour bbl (.820). I have had both tuners on several different guns with no issues at all. My new 1K dasher has a 1K HV countour bbl....much thicker...
