Any of you ever do this??

. Even worse is when the condition does not change for the 5th shot and the bullet still goes out 3/4"..........good reason to not hesitate or overthink/analyze the 5th shot, just fire it in the same cadence and rhythm as the previous one holers.

Does a barrel tenon need an undercut at the end of thread?

    Not needed in your situation.

What makes a barrel quit shooting

. Bore firecracking adjacent to the chamber area of the barrel.

    Scratches from pilot bushing

I agree with Bob! Also, most barrels leave their heaviest copper fouling deposits within the last inch of the muzzle which is commonly believed to be atomized copper coming out suspension with the drop of bore pressure as the bullet exits the muzzle, so what you are seeing at the muzzle may...

    Brass sticking in chamber?

You may have solved the immediate extraction problem, by openning up the bolt face diameter, but if there was binding that means something is off-axis, and that you still probably have incorrect alignment of the chamber, barrel threads, bolt body, bolt face, action raceway, etc............Don

Changing 30 Degree Coned Barrel to 25 Degree's

Why not just fab a .055" spacer from tubing, similar to a recoil lug, much easier than re-chambering/ headspacing/ coning/etc.........Don

Bausch & Lomb 8-32 Balvar scope

. When first starting out I managed a few regional yardage wins with the Balvar scope, so it can be competitive. The lense coating was a little dark, probably for glare reducition in hunting applications, but does not affect anything when shooting from a bench in the middle of the day. Would...

    6PPC measured freebore diameter ?

Seems very typical and right in the sweet spot to ensure accuracy, not so small in diameter that the reamer would not cut a large bored/lapped barrel but not so large as to cut an excess diameter freebore that would allow alignment problems. Most use pin guages (Deltronics) to measure freebore...

No Barrel Nut on a Savage Rifle

. Best method I found is to use 2 nuts tightened together and set at the appropriate headspace, sometimes with locktite.............then install and/or remove the barrel using a standard barrel vise..................Don

    220 Russian Brass Question........

Works fine for me, but I cut all my chambers nearly identical so they are all interchangeable, also any brass that ages and starts to size differently gets annealed and is back to acting like new brass.

    Burnishing throats in rimfire

Probably the most convincing method would be to take a piece of chambered practice barrel stub and try your ceramic rod method, then follow with the brush lapped compound method, borescope and see which produces the best finish.

    Burnishing throats in rimfire

Hell no, you want the lapping texture to follow the bore centerline, not perpendicular to it, do exactly as Jerry has stated for best results.

    Chambering a 338 Lapua Magnum?

Indicate as far in as possible before the last reamer cuts, .100" before final reamer cut borescope the throat cut band area looking for a concentric equal band length, if band length is not equal distant then readjust barrel and re-ream in .020" increments until throat band is equal length 360...

    Trapping rimfire rounds???

Shop rags layered between crumpled newspaper with cardboard dividers for easy bullet positional finding, ten layers in a 2' wide x 4' long plywood box with firing entry port will be more than long enough for .22lr rounds...............Don

    New Berger BR Bullet

Wonder how inaccurate this lot of bullets was? Maybe all major bullet mfg. ought to live fire test new lots of competition bullets, half hour of testing might save hundreds of hours of re-call effort and expense, wonder if Berger has a test range at their facility?
