    Tony Boyer

rbeckwith, what is it exactly you want to know, A Hart 1-A is nothin special, basically a Right /Right action with mondo remington ignition.By virtue of its mass,it is destined to be a heavy 13.5 lb rifle. Few are competitive with right/right actions; Tony and Wayne and Andy, cause they're...

Gene, I've mic'd steel and carbide bushings that were out ( measuring top to bottom parallel) How do you check a bushing ? How do you measure the inside channel as being perpendicular to the top of the bushing ? Forgive my lack of machinist jargon.Just want better bushings. Joel

Are you guys shure about this .268 thing ? I played with a .269 chamber once, didn't like it. It was death grip or nothin'. OK with a 133 heavy neck tension set up but worthless with an 8208 light neck tension setup. With competition 6ppc "finesse" is the name of the game. Finesse with seating...

    curious about bullet making

Brandon, Yes, George is a great die maker, very practical in his approach to his work. In all fairness though David Detsch and Brian/ Bill Niemi are also quality die makers.I have dies from all three, The Niemi dies are like jewelry, very high end, spit and polish, ground threads, the price...

    Winners at Riverbend (pictures)

Nice pictures Tom, I like that color/BW contrast thing, like watchin' the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy goes over the rainbow. Some good shooters in that group photo, (yeah even Jerry Sharrett can turn it on when he wants to). Joel

Some up to date info on an old barrel cleaning product

Russell, before someone gave me a gps( out of sympathy) I ended up on the wrong side of the mountain looking for Fairchance, some guy on his roof set me straight. Then there was the shirtless guy on his lawn tractor that helped me find Kane.It took me four years to figure out how to get to...

Some up to date info on an old barrel cleaning product

Thanks Jerry, I never tried the USP bore paste but being as I'm a JB user it's nice to know that there is another product that is the same product as JB used to be ? ? ? Kinda like asking directions in a strange small town " Well,ya go down this road past the big hay field, then ya make a...

New Toy - check your gun handling

After my last casual, wasn't trying to imply anything, "mutton" remark ( gee, I wonder why I'm divorced ? ), I was planning on getting out of this thread, but as long you guys won't let me out gracefully, here is yet another installment on gun handling. I got out to CCC today with "the...

New Toy - check your gun handling

This is a good thread, all kidding aside. The better archery shops have been video taping shooters for years, lots of guys letting down the bow arm at the shot, punching the trigger on the release,no back tension ,etc. Benchrest shooting has the rifle supported much more than the best archer can...

New Toy - check your gun handling

Greg, Nice video! Should make a wonderful addition to your already legendary "slo-mo" film series. Who could forget "Bongo drums for beat-nicks", "Bistro poetry recital", "The Elvis Presley hunk-a-hunk a burnin' love weight loss program" and "wrap-round sunglasses aren't just for crusin'...

Do sleeved Rem 700's win many matches these days ?

Gerry, you've got more bench guns than China's got American jobs. We still have to try those Sierra jacket/ Clarence Detsch die .22 bullets I made in one of your .222's. We'll have go to CCC and see who wants to pull/paste targets for our little experiment? " hold that cigarette pack a little...

    Another benchrest legend passess

"Doc" Maybe like the 2nd Nationals I went to was in early 2000 something,Wapwallopen PA ( what a name) Palmisano range, pulled in the afternoon before with the "Hacienda" ( worlds crappiest trailer) in tow, drove down through the middle of everything in a cloud of dust and ended up at the end of...

    Rear Bag Hardness

J., Can only comment on 10-1/2 lb,3" forend 6ppc's. I believe the bags ( front and rear) should capture the rifle's stock like an old catchers mitt capture's a base ball, this cradles the rifle solidly from a gravity perspective. One's shoulder should be immediately close and relaxed to the...

Hard to explain the HOF point system, but easy to explain the HOF members, These guys ARE something special in the shooting sports. Total dedication, focus, perseverence, mind over matter, and the ability to capture the moment, whenever, wherever and however it is presented to them. Gene B and Bob S...
