What questions to ask when buying a used BR

The club I plan on shooting at is Dietzville near New Braunfules. I stopped by and talked to Mr. Dietz and asked if he knew of any used BR rifles and he said no, but their season opens in March and that one might come up and he'd give me a call. I have a rest, bag, range reloading equipment and...

What questions to ask when buying a used BR

I'm looking to purchase a used BR LV rifle (probably from the classified ads here) and I'm not sure of what questions to ask the seller. I want to shoot at a near by club 100 and 200 group. When buying a BR rifle sight unseen what would be some questions to ask the seller. How does one choose a...

    Concrete Bench Question

Well I just formed it up and I'm putting 1.5" fall in about 51" I set the forms up and set up my bag and rest(with the top level) with the front rest all the way down I was looking 5' over my back stop. I think there is more like 15' fall in 100yards This is ALOT of work and I'm hoping I'm...

    Concrete Bench Question

The top is going to poured at one time with the legs (monolithic) Im worried about having to place something under the rear bag that makes the rest unstable, I dont want to do all this work and have a wobbly rear bag set up. Besides the problem of having things roll off the top is there any...

    Concrete Bench Question

I'm constructing a two shooter concrete bench on my property. I have the design all figured out - but there is about a 12' drop from the bench location to the backstop at 100 yds. Should I make the bench top run parallel to the slope or level. At the 200 yd mark there is about 15' to 20' drop...

I have the rock BR rest and it weighs in at 16lbs The windage top doesnt work very well It is not in the same class as a Hart or Sinclair but it is half the price Knowing what I do know and how much I enjoy the sport I would have probably purchased the sinclair rest. If your using the rest...

    newbie question

Right know I have a redding Br powder measure and a redding compact press that I could use to range reload. When I reload at home I check my measure on my digital scale a few times before I throw charges directly into the case. I'm still a little nervous trusting my powder measure skills without...

    newbie question

Im looking to purchase my first BR rifle soon and possibly shooting in a local match sometime soon.I have a few questions: 1. How many rounds do most of you take to a match? 2. Why reload at the range instead of bringing ample preloaded rounds? 3. Is an arbor press necessery (if I decided to...

    Ruger 77mkII, 22PPC Desirable?

Ruger MK II I purchased used MkII 22ppc in 99% condition with a 10x Leupold on it for $600 about 8 months ago. It shoots in the 3's and 4' with factory sako rounds. I've gotten it in the 2's a couple of times with Lapua brass, H322 205m's, and berger bullets.

    Which Reticle is best?

I have a Leupold with the varmint hunter reticle and I love it. It has windage and elevation markers built right in and is calibrated for 220 swift and 22-250 ballistics. If you take some time and pratice with it you wont have to guess for hold over or windage at different yardages.

    savage 204 lrpv

I'm having trouble getting my lrpv to shoot like I think it should. 1-When tighting the action screws should the top two be tight and the tang one snug or the top and tang tight and middle one snug? (I understand that the goal is not to put the action in a bind) 2- What other calibers are...

    Fire forming 22 ppc

I'm using H322 right at 25.0 gr. Was worried that with the smaller case (pre-fireformed) that this would be to warm. I FF about 15 cases so far and no sign of excess pressure. Is powder residue on the shoulder normal.
