The whie fluffy stuff is ashes from the burning forests caused by Global Warming, the chill you feel is terror at the thought of all the blazing Polar Bears trying desperately to find a patch of ice to roll around on to put out the fire.
I remember when the hysterics first got into full swing, everywhere you looked there'd be psuedo-scientific articles with images of molten lead rivers on Venus and claims that CO2 build up would reach a tipping point where Earth would be transformed into a hellish planet like Venus.
I can also remember when Acid rain first became a cause celebre', with articles describing people getting caught in the rain and the flesh being dissolved as they ran for shelter.
Then the New Ice Age of the seventies. When can we expect the scientific community to thank US Industry for its timely countermeasure of pumping CO2 into the air to counteract the Ice Age that would have otherwise destroyed civilization by 1990?
Since I do a little stargazing I had already known of the increased albedo of solar system objects due to increased solar activity since the 60's, so it stood to reason that a planet whose surface is heated by sunlight would grow slightly warmer when that sunlight increased. Took a lot of jiggery pokery for them to try to explain that away.
Then they had to totally ignore all historical evidence of the Medieval warming Period, without which the Norse could never have established new world colonies or their tenuous foothold on Iceland, which was much more hospitable in those days.
If the facts don't fit the theory they simply ignore or suppress the facts. No attempt at debate, if anyone asks a question they hem and haw for a moment then point a finger and screech like Pod People chanting "Stooge of the Oil company", while muttering "capitalist running dog" under their breath no doubt.
I'm in high style tonight, just got through reading the gloating comments of atheists and other anti-christians proclaiming that a single Jewish first century shroud with a common weave was absolute proof that the Shroud of Turin was a fake so Christ must not have existed. That level of blind faith in a rag certainly matches any they attribute to Catholics who believe in the Shroud.
If my comments here step over the line please edit and delete them, my intention is not to promote religion but rather to blow off some steam at psuedo-science and the disturbing arrogance of semi educated worshippers of false logic that fills the net these days. Theres not a first year philosophy major alive today that doesn't believe they can prove a negative by appealing to ignorance or substitution of correlation for causation.
End of rant.
