What has really advanced rimfire accuracy ?

I know what ya all mean. When I was at this year's Nationals, I had to arrive wearing my Foster Grants and a big floppy hat, riding in my buddies pick-up so as to not be noticed by all my fans waiting for me at the entrance to the club. But I really don't mind the fans (especially the ones throwing their bras at me) so much at the dang paparazzi. It's getting so bad that I can't step out side my house and take a pee without all them flash bulbs going off. Why, I remember when rimfire BR was a sport that didn't draw much attention and us athletes competed in obscurity. I guess we have BC to blame for that too; The publishing of his book and all the attention it got made rock stars of us all - - - - and then - - - I woke up.

But this could happen to us if we advance rimfire accuracy too far and all become folk heros for it. Be careful.

Very well stated Bill, Keep them scores as low as you can and I'll try to do my part too.

I hope you don't mind me asking but was it much of a list?

I've been working on mine for a few years off and on. I cross a few off now and again but the darn thing never seems to get any shorter.

Hello: To Bill B , Tim & All others. As a new competetor in this sport, I am very greatfull for the advancments in equiptment, and mostly for the willingness of veteran shooters to pass along the advice that will save time, money & agrivation to get a new shooter off to a good start. In the short time that I have been involved in USRA. I have been fortunate enough to find a priceless wealth of advice from some of the best shooters in this country. I anxiously look forward to my opertunity to put this information to use. imho...............The shooter, & his will to win. Thank You Very Much to those veterans who take the time to help out the new guy, It means more than you know. Ed.

I have worked very hard during the past 30 years to try to balance work, saving for retirement and doing the things I wanted to do. I believe I have achieved the best balance I was able to do. I don't regret much, if anything and have done everything I have wanted to do that I could afford to do, which is the only realistic thing. I have done things some can only dream of and lived a fairly simple life at the same time. I don't live an opulent lifestyle, which has never appealed to me. I be a simple dude, literally.

I was killed in a light plane crash in 1980 but was saved by great medical folks who just happened to be at the right place at the right time. In spite of having shattered L3 and L4, which were not repaired, I am able to function reasonably normally. The guy who recently said he could break my spine with his bare hands didn't know how right he was, eh? I know how precarious life is and how precarious my being able to still function somewhat normally is. I don't question or look back. I am a blessed human being and anything I'm able to do is a gift. I try to be a practical and realistic person. I don't have any mountains to climb and I have seen every exotic place I want to see with the exception of Australia. Mebby next year :).

This, gentlemen, is going to be a good shooter in time. He has the right attitude, asks the right questions, seems to hunger for knowledge, listens, and really likes it a lot. It's a pleasure to share any small knowledge I've come across with guys like this. They are, after all the future of the sport.

good luck

Good luck with the trip to Aus. A great country as long as you ignore the snakes and spiders. Oh, and not forgetting the flies. Just don't ask what those little black bits are on the BBQ steaks.

They will be hosting the WC's there in a few years, perhaps you could combine the two.

off topic i suppose, but back in the '70's (or '80's) there was a big push over here by the Aus govt to entice americans to emigrate, if I remember, there were incentives too. After a couple years, a lot of folks gave up and came back to US, the main reason was snakes and bugs. we have those critters here too, just not in our bedrooms. i never been there, just what i heard, maybe just a bunch of baloney. thanks, douglas

I spent quite a lot of time in Thailand back in the middle 60's. Sure, there were all of thise things there too but I never saw that it held anyone back from living a normal life or enjoying the expotica of the place.

Ladyboys, STD's and counterfeit designer clothes tend to be the extent of most tourists experience of Thailands exotica these days.
