Friends?

For all that "have a point", wear a hat, it will cover your point.:D

That's fine, but....

.....is there a place in the profile for "enemies?"

Just wondering...

Betsy,

I am not familiar with her but I hit google and found quite a bit on your friend, Mary Stidworthy. She racked up all kinds of shooting trophies in the '70s. You might just find her through Google.

Some of the other shooters here might know her or know of her.

Good luck,

Friend Bill,

over on the The Dark Side (rimfire) they've taken the "friend" thing to a whole new level...... kinda' caused me to avoid the word entirely on this site. I misdoubt I've ever posted a word/question on the rimfire board.

Thank you for opening the door ;) friend....

It's been a pure-dee pleasure getting to know you here.

:)

Ohhh, and BTW, over here in the upper left corner we call it "flippin' " and friends do it, a lot. TRULY rare is the woman who can engage.... I'm proud to say my wife can flang it like a man :D she burns my biscuits on a regular basis.

Some on this board have taught me a thing or two about the art of verbal parlay. Doctor Tim Oltersdorf comes to mind, the man's a genius!

We're to far away from the border to use 'amigo' up here.... but if you call a girl "mijo" you're perty assured of a few welts! ;) Over in the Carolineys my relatives say amigo with the hard 'G'......

Thank you Al. The feeling is mutual.

I think the trick is to treat everyone you meet as a possible friend and never use the term lightly.

I have heard that a friend is someone who is always willing to help you and a true friend will help you hide a body.

If you ever need help, give me a call.

Dear Friend Bill

Me and the delightful Ms J are going to be in Texas from 11-23 through 12-7. Wanna buy us lunch and see if we come up to your expecttions of Yankees?

Sure Pete,

Where are y'all stayin? What do you like, Tex-Mex or steak?

You may be a Yankee and I am a Texan but I bet we are more alike than we are different.

Pete,

Being the person that you are and with your outlook, you will find all kinds of friendly people down here. However that being said, you may have to pay for your own lunch some along the way.

Fred J is sure right about San Antonio being big and having a lot of good restaurants. There is good food all over Texas.

Fred, I heard that they shut down Earl Abel's over on Broadway and Hilderbran recently. If they did it a shame.

We don't know

We have traveled quite a bit together over the past couple of years and we don't go with an itinerary except for getting back to the plane on time. We have always been able to find motels etc so no problem there.

I have always hated to go on a planned trip, having looked at pictures first. Get there and you have allready seen it in the pictures. :( She does look up things to see and if we get to them fine, if we don't fine.

I am realllly only interested in what placs feel like while being there. I have spent a bit of time in Texas in the past. I have an old friend who lives in Rusk and I have called on him a couple of times; interesting part of Texas.

We are going to Brownsville first and look that area over. After that, whatever the day brings us except for one special stop before we get on the plane. I am prepared to do the driving. I know how big Texas is. SO, if we get a chance to meet somewhere, we will ;)

P.S.

I frequented Barbque restaurants so often in Florida last March I brought on Gout! What does that tell ya about me and food? I am not big on the seasonings in Mexican food or the combinations put together in Mexican dishes. I hardly ever go to them. We are peppered with them up here too; probably for obvious reasons. We have a bunch of lazy Americans here too :)

Yes, they closed the original resturant, but move into a newer locaction in the Terrel Plaza area on Austin Hi-Way. Haven't tried it yet to see if the foods the same.
Pete: Don't drink the water down by the Rio Grande.

Thanks Fred

We carry bottled water to drink with pills or rinsing after brushing. I live on McDonalds Senior coffees the rest of the time :). Lowest cost, so far, for Senior Coffees or any Sinior Drinks for that matter is Webster City, Iowa. $.45 for any drink in the house for Seniors. Prior to that it was in Georgia; fiddy eight cent she said.

We might be able

to swing over your way on our drive back to the Airport. We will be traveling a bit Northwest of you before heading home.

Live with this

Stopped at McDonald's in Junction, TX, to refill my coffe mug. The little teen at the register, looked baffled, as she didn't know how to handle the sale. She asked her Lead, and without missing a beat, the Lead said," All Old People get their Cokes and Coffee half price. I thanked her and left.

Yep

Still only paid fiddy since. Most other McDonald's and What-A-Burgers close to our ranges, offer the refill, free.
