Die Matching ?

fist off i have never been a full length sizer guy in any of my BR rifles or BR type chambering's.I have tryed full length sizeing and have lost accuracry.. so either just neck size with a wilson or redding comp/bushing neck die and perfer the redding neck die because i can fine tune the grip by adjusting how much neck i size. has worked well.
but i have found that in actual competition some times having to tune the load in a hurry has caused some cases that were just too tight to use.lol...
so i want to get a matched full length sizer die set up for my new rifle(should be done real soon).
what is the best way to do this?
what is the easyest way to do this?
Thanks for any help?

Mark, Might your BR riflesmith be a person to consider asking this question? He might have the answers specifically for your chamber.

Ask your gunsmith if he has an FL sizing reamer that matches the chambering reamer. The FL reamer is slightly smaller than the chambering reamer, so making an FL die with the chambering reamer won't work. If he has the proper reamer he can get blanks that he can ream to match your chamber.

Considering the expense of a new rifle, buying your own reamer is not out of line (for me), and if you buy the die first, and then size several fully work hardened (well used and FL sized many times) cases, you should be able to come up with a reamer print that is a good fit for that die. This is generally a lot cheaper than a custom die, unless you are building something that Harrell's makes dies for. Having your own reamer has the advantage of maintaining your chamber to die fit, for all subsequent barrels of the same caliber.

I have found that Dave Kiff (Pacific Tool and Guage--PT&G) can spec. a reamer that will match a Redding full length (type-S bushing ) die to perfection....just tell him what you are after and he knows the measurements,,any cal..ppc--6mmBR--30-06...you name it if Redding makes a die he can match it...!!!.../Roger

well guys not what i was hopeing to hear.
yes i have my own PTG reamer, well the smith has it now, i did'ent want to go through the trouble of trying to get a FL reamer.
I was hopeing to go with getting a die made from the fired cases. this is a 6BR .268NK
was looking at the harrell's dies because i could still use a neck bushing..thats what i want to do. good idea?
but i dont know what to size the case to ,,ie like how much in the web, body ect?

Totally agree with Roger... To perfection, chamber to FL die size and back.

Post #7 Mr. Grosbier is done by many and I too have heard satisfaction this way too.

I noticed when looking in the Sinclair catalog the other day that Redding makse a Small Base die for the 6 PPC and BR cases. The tightness problem comes from most full length dies not sizing the cases enough.

If you go the Harrels route ask for the smallest one they make. That one isn't any too small, IMHO. I think it is a 3.0 Wish I had known that when I purchaesd mine.
