    Need Help Adjusting Jewel Trigger

OK, Jewell experts. On a range trip today, I had a few times when racking the bolt didn't cock. So, what would be the best adjustment, increasing sear engagement or increasing pull weight? Regards, Jim

    Need Help Adjusting Jewel Trigger

I don't know where you get the idea that I don't follow instructions. I have been following the exact instructions from Jewell. I did forget to go back 3/4 turn on the sear engagement. That caused a lot of grief. Everything is just the way I want it now. Regards, Jim

    Need Help Adjusting Jewel Trigger

OK, I managed to get about 1.6 to 1.9 ounces of pull, it is hard to tell exactly with a pull that light. I think my previous problem was due to not backing the sear screw off a full 3/4 turn before proceeding. Question: Is there any appreciable interaction between sear engagement and pull...

    Need Help Adjusting Jewel Trigger

Assuming that it is "woefully maladjusted", what would be a good starting point to correct the problem? I was thinking about setting the pull to 3 ounces, then starting at the beginning of the Jewel procedure. Regards, Jim

    Need Help Adjusting Jewel Trigger

I have been using the procedure from the Jewel web site. No issues except I wanted a slightly lighter pull. Never been cleaned, used about one month. Regards, Jim

    Need Help Adjusting Jewel Trigger

I have a Jewel BR trigger that I am trying to adjust to 1.5 ounces. When I get to the step that adjusts the pull weigh, even a slight decrease in pull weight results in the rifle firing on bolt close. So I have adjusted the sear screw to increase sear engagement. But, several turns of the screw...

Anyone using the Sinclair competition rest?

I need to correct what I said about my Competition rest top. In used the standard Competition top, no windage adjustment. The base has more than enough windage and elevation adjustment for any target I have shot at 50 yards. Regards, Jim

Anyone using the Sinclair competition rest?

The Sinclair Competition with an Edgewood bag is an excellent front rest. BUT, it weighs 30 pounds. Too heavy for an old guy, so I sold mine. I used the Sinclair windage top. I have also used a Greenlaw top on a Bald Eagle front rest. The Greenlaw is very nice, the Bald Eagle not so nice. My...

    Bore Guide

The advice I have seen is to NOT push the brush out the end, stop while most of the brush is still in the barrel. You would need a stop or obvious mark on the rod. Regards, Jim

Newbie from So. Utah - Rest Question

Well, the usual opinion is "the heavier the better". But, for me, anything heavier than about 20 pounds including the bag is just too heavy to comfortably use. Regards, Jim

Newbie from So. Utah - Rest Question

Hi Bob, My first "serious" rimfire was a CZ 455 Varmint. For a "purely recreational" shooter I would suggest a Bald Eagle front rest and Protektor front and rear bags. Email me at: iowaboy@comcast.net if you want to discus further details. Regards, Jim

Newbie from So. Utah - Rest Question

Hey Bob, Up here in Sandy, I have used a Caldwell Rock, a Bald Eagle, a Sinclair Heavy Varmint, a Sinclair BR Competition and a PQP Lite One Piece. Without knowing what rifle you are using, and how serious you are about BR shooting, it is hard to make a recommendation. The Sinclair Heavy...
