    Sighting Scope???

Sighting Scope I think I found the answer in another thread. Seems that most folks zero there rifle scope under the best conditions and then hold over for any given conditions during the match. Sounds like they get a feel for the hold for a given day using the spotting bulls. That does make...

    Sighting Scope???

I have been shooting 22 BR for one season. My practice has been to pick a wind condition and adjust my scope so that I am hitting the ten ring under that condition. Then I go to the scoring bulls and wait on the wind to come back to my set point on the flags. I am not sure that is the best way...

Thanks Martin. Final Note: Gun actually wieghed in at 7 lb even on the digital scale at my club. My local machine shop is making me a stainless Steel butt plate this week. My gunsmith said I could possibly make further accuracy adjustments by adjusting the tension on the one bolt that holds it...

LAst match. First 5 shoots were 10-10x-8-10x-9. I picked the wrong wind conditions and spent 20 minutes on my first 5 shoots. The rest was a bust but not because of the gun. I did'nt even have time to shoot the bottom row. I have to wait until next year to see how it does in competetion. Maybe...

Well here she is. Weights exactly 7.5 on a baby scale but I don't have a butt plate on it yet. Feels solid as a rock. Hard to tell in the photo, but i has 8 hand sanded coates of automotive clearcoat on it that looks a mile deep. Now to see if it will shoot?

He is, to use his words, "bedden the S$#^ out it". He is doing it a couple of stages??? instead of trying to bed it all at one time. Advised me to let it sit for 4 or 5 days before I crank it off to let everything harden really well. Then he said not to take it apart unless I absolutley had to...

CZ custom sporter Hey Martin. I am doing the same thing you are with one of Don's stocks. My rifle is the varmit version with a tapered bull barrel. My gunsmith is bedding it now. I also am trying it with only the action bolt holding it down. I put a Rifle Basix trigger on it and have it set...

Bill Caffee and other good 22 gunsmiths

I want to start planning a new 22 BR sporter. Would like to learn about costs and waiting times. How can I get in touch with Bill Cafee? He is very popular in my area. What other gunsmiths would you folks who have around awhile recommend? Thanks Bob
