started to customize a cz 452 trainer. a new Stith stock has been received. this stock is made from paulownia wood and is a fraction the weight of the original beech stock. with the action and barrel, the barrel lug and rear sight is being machined off. the front sight hood and post have been removed. the tang area will be drilled and tapped. this area is not very thick but several threads will hold it. the stock will be pillered and bedded by master classstocks with an aluminum butt plate. bkl 257 rings will be used and a pentax 4.5x14x scope will top it off. for action screws we will use j&p custom allen bolts and replace the bolt spring with one of theirs. a brooks trigger upgrade has been done and the trigger is creep free at 7.0 ounces. we are undecided on replacing the sear hoping a 2.0 ounce trigger is in the future. will take some pics as we go along and plan a uniqe way of pillering and bedding. completion is expected after the new year. for anyone thinking about making weight on a sporter you have to see and feel this paulownia stock, it's like holding balsa wood. Don did a great job on this.
