    Custom die help

John, I use a RCBS Gold Medal full length bushing die for my 30-378. Cheaper than custom and no wait time. With seating die. http://www.midwayusa.com/Product/477143/rcbs-gold-medal-match-series-bushing-2-die-set-30-378-weatherby-magnum. James

    300-375 Ruger Magnum

I am running the 225 BTHPs 2950 with the 30 HSM out of a 29" barrel using H1000. I have run them up to 3050 but brass life suffers and accuracy is better at 2950. The brass is good but necks need do be turned as the thickness varies. Case capacity is a little more than needed especially with the...

    30REM AR 30* improved

SAAMI lists the rim diameter spec. as .492" for the 30 Rem AR. So yea Wikipedia has it wrong. James

    .22 @ 1000

dragman, Lonnie Hummel(Hornady technician) had some luck with a 22-6mm Rem a few years back. He says he is going to start shooting one again at 1000 BR. I have heard good reports on barrel life for the 22-6 from both Lonnie and others. There was an article in PS Magazine about it a few months...

    bushing bolt

Tod, The 6mm Creedmoor falls smack between the 6X47L and 6mm Rem. It is also a little hard on barrels with H4350 but it does like H4350 a lot. My last one had around 1300 down it before I set it back and chambered it in 6 BR, but at 300 it was already getting a lot of firecracking. I shot it...

    PLease Read the Rule Book:

This doesn't pertain to short range, but I thought the new rule to allow Williamsport shooters at the Nationals got approval after the initial 1 year test. That rule no longer appears in the rule book. Did it not get permanent approval or was it left out? James

    2011 IBS Nationals

IBS Light Gun is 5 shots per target. This is the IBS Nationals so it is 5 shots. NBRSA also shoots 5 shots per target in LG, a.f.i.k. only Williamsport and it's affiliate Missoula shoot 10 in LG. James

    IBS vs NBRSA Reciprocity

Al, You just stirring $hit or what?:D Here is what is in the rule book regarding reciprocity. III) Tournament Procedures B) Registration 1) All competitors at every Registered Tournament shall be required to complete a registration form supplied by IBS and to produce, for inspection, a current...

First 600 yard IBS AR Class shoot.

Mike in co, The brass off the bench is open to interpretation too. If a match director DQs you for having brass just roll off your bench I think he is being over exuberant, on the other hand if your brass is falling down the neck of the shooter next to you, yea I think you should be DQed. The...

First 600 yard IBS AR Class shoot.

Mike, You can shoot your single shots in the current classes, semi-autos are not allowed in current IBS classes, hence the AR class. James

First 600 yard IBS AR Class shoot.

Mike, I can see that it is open to interpretation. I cannot understand though what would be the point of adding an AR class then trying to make the AR a bolt gun, we already have 2 Long Range bolt gun classes. As Dan Whitney would say "It's like wiping before you poop, it doesn't make any...

First 600 yard IBS AR Class shoot.

Mike, You know that single loading is not allowed in the IBS AR class. Rifles were shot from the magazine, semi-auto fire. The point I was trying to make by stating that they are bone stock is they are both mass produced un-modified rifles. There is a lot of room for improvement in these rifles...

First 600 yard IBS AR Class shoot.

The AR class has been offered at the IBS 600 yard matches at Grand Island for the last year and a half, Saturday was the first time 2 IBS members showed up with an AR for the class. Both rifles are stock, a Remington R25 in .243 Win (with a stock Bushmaster trigger), 75gr VMAX and a DPMS LR 6.5...

Tod, Two day match this weekend June 11 and 12 IBS 1000 yard at Byers, CO. Colorado State Championship. We are only shooting a 2 target agg. each class each day Plus the shootoff instead of the normal 3 target agg plus shootoff. Lots of prizes. Maybe you and Donovan Moran or one of those other...

    1000 yd flags......

Dick, Please elaborate. The way I read the rules it looks like it is up to the individual club as to how benches are assigned. I also don't see where a random draw is a requirement in the Long Range rules even though it makes sence to have the benches and relays assigned randomly. James

    South Dakota 600 results

Tod, I believe Richard Schatz won LG group both days and Glen Sterling won HG group both days, both were shooting Dashers. I don't recall who won score, possibly Jim Salwei for HG score on Saturday. Conditions were really crappy on Saturday but there were still some sub 2" groups shot. I kind...

    1000 yd flags......

Mike, I agree with most of the other posts here. You may be allowed to put your "tall" flags in the line of the range flags on the border(I don't know what advantage that would be) but you will not be allowed to put them in the target lanes. If you want you can file a formal protest at the match...
