    Barnard action for short-range LV?

Stephen, Barnards are very popular in the UK. Start off with the Barnard S action rather than the P. The S is Remmy profile so lighter but it is still a very stiff action. Still three-lug and can be had in right/left bolt/port configuration. You can reduce cocking force by shortening the...

Joystick rests and 20 pound rifles

Andrew, Kkuperman is dead right. I use a SEB and the front counter-balance weight has transformed it. I'm using a weight made from a six-inch length of old barrel to balance my 17lb Light Gun. Back off the tension adjustment and the rest becomes as smooth as silk but supports the rifle...

    6-284

Shooter 65, Gator is about spot on. I was running the DTACs at 3250fps and I had 21 MOA from 100 to 1000 yds. My 243 AI will just make 3200fps with the (mollied) DTACs and Reloader 22. Still searching for the accuracy load! Cheers Vince (UK)

    Help with F/TR Rifle

Mr Logic, The 308 Savage F/TR rifle is a competitive out of the box rifle for reasonable money. If you contact Stuart Anselm of www.ospreyrifles.com he might still have one at the old price. The F/TR class has really taken off in the UK and whereas a tactical rifle would have been a reasonable...

    6-284

It is a great 1000 yd BR round. I had my first one just after Bill Shehane broke the world record with his. Back then, there was only Winchester brass, now we have Lapua brass and the 6mm DTAC bullets. My latest one is a 6-284 'short' - by 50 thou. Built on a BAT M. The barrel didn't look too...

    6-6.5x47 Lapua flash hole size

Hi Rick, As you are probably aware, the first 6.5x47 Lapua cases had a large primer. This was soon replaced by the small primer. I asked Lapua why - 'the small primer gave better accuracy' - was the reply. Cheers Vince (UK)

    Hawkeye bore scope question

If you don't mind kneeling on the floor to look through your barrel, you don't need an angled eye-piece. Cheers Vince (UK)

    Nesika bolt

Hi Kevin, Nothing too exciting - Andy Bird wants a new barrel on his Dave Tooley built Nesika - which is currently chambered in 7mmBooBoo. He's going for a 6.5x47 for 600 yd BR - which is now going well at Diggle. 'Bout time you got back and did some shooting - having said that, it's freezing...
