    J Tech or J Tex

I have had it done to some of my barrels. I,m no guru on it but all I know is that they are my best barrels, hardly foul, very accurate, quick to clean. These are a different make barrel (Lilja) to my others so this could be something to do with it. One thing I can help with is that when I tried...

How do you stop your scope from fogging up?

Well, what I will do with my good scopes is not put on any anti fogging potions unless I hear from the manufacturers that it is OK. I will just have to leave it in the back of the car with the tail gate open to even out the temperature between relays. I think that what I have been doing is...

How do you stop your scope from fogging up?

It was at a motorcycle shop today that I saw the Cat Crap. I,m not sure if it will have any adverse effect on expensive scope optical coatings.

How do you stop your scope from fogging up?

"Cat Crap" such a lovely sounding name for some goo to put on the lense of your favourite scope. I have seen it around somewhere and will give it a go to see how it goes for me.

How do you stop your scope from fogging up?

pbike, the last time I had this problem ,and what made me post was when I was in a competition. It started raining just before my relay and the scope got covered as the wind was blowing the rain about. A rain drop was just where the crosshair was and when I wiped it, it made the image look like...

How do you stop your scope from fogging up?

I have had a few issues recentley with shooting in cool, wet or foggy conditions when my scope fogs up. No doubt I have breathed on the scope and such, but even when out hunting, I have gone to look through the scope and it has fogged up. (only externaly, not on the inside lenses). What do you...

    Subsonic at long range

I have 50 newly formed 7mm/221 and 50x 300/221 cases just made up waiting for the barrels to be chambered. The 7mm will be firing 180gn VLDs at 1040fps and the 300/221 will shoot 240gn matchkings at 1040fps. I am not expecting them to be as good in the wind as a normal 1000yd load. They will...

    JB welding scope bases

Just checking, do BR gunsmiths make a point of JB cold welding scope bases to the actions? I will be putting one piece bases on my centerfire and rimfire rifles and was thinking of JB cold welding them, to sort of add bedding as well as making them more secure.

Weaver base adapter for Panda dovetails

expiper. It is in the middle of summer here, great beach weather, which is where I will be in an hour or two. As for the blonde with the great chest and great legs, that is an anology I understand, why cant others put things so simply????? I didnt read the fine print with Z rings, they come...

1 piece base VS 2 piece base, is it stronger?

OK, here is what I have decided on. I wil get the big ridgid BLK 6 screw base with integral rings for my Anschutz open class BR rifle. I will lap the dovetails in to ensure perfect fit and then use some JB cold weld to bed it/secure it. For my CZ magazine fed rifle, I will go for a weaver...

    base and rings

I like the weaver style mounts with Z rings as well. I am in the process of standardizing all of my rifles to have Weaver style bases and Burris Z rings. All weaver bases so that I can swap scopes around different rifles if necassary, and Z rings as they have adjustable offsets, perfect...

Weaver base adapter for Panda dovetails

Hammer47. I will get onto Kelblys to see if I can get one without the 20moa taper as I intend to get Burris Z rings with the tapered inserts. Coming from Kelbly I can assume it will fit the Kelbly action very well.

Weaver base adapter for Panda dovetails

Does anyone know if someone makes a weaver base adapter to fit onto a Stohle Panda dovetails? I want to be able to standardize all of my scopes to weaver bases so that I can swap them around easily.

1 piece base VS 2 piece base, is it stronger?

I see your point about posible distortion. I might look at the BKL weaver adapters with cutouts for the loading port (code 558). They have some metal cut away, which will allow some movement for tolerances, but maybe add some stiffness and let me use weaver mounts. I might try to lap it into...

Dove tail size on Anschutz Model 54 target

Brad451, from what you said, it might be a good idea if I try to get hold of my gunsmith to see what dovetails mine has, single or double

1 piece base VS 2 piece base, is it stronger?

I have been looking at the BKL mounts for my Anschutz 54 target action and like some of their big solid 1 piece bases as weight wont be an issue for me. Problem is, I like 2 piece bases to give better access to the loading port, no fumbling for bulets through a half blocked port. But then, does...

Dove tail size on Anschutz Model 54 target

Thanks for this Brad. I will be putting an order in for either the 4" 6 screw mounts or for one of the weaver adapters. It answers my question 11mm or 3/8"

Dove tail size on Anschutz Model 54 target

My Anschutz model 54 target action is at the gunsmith getting rebarreled. I,m just checking for sure what size dovetails are on the older Model 54 target actions before I get bases for it. Can anyone confirm what it is?
