Another approach to rear bag to stock fit....?

No, it won't work, anybody and....................... everybody knows, if you use Brass, Babbit, or Balsa, it won't make the ears last any longer. I even talked to a HOF'er, and HE SAID, even wet ears won't make the keel last any longer..............:D:D:D:D Not to get too far off topic, Boyd...

    6mm super lr

Alright Ray,.............. I stand corrected. My problem was, I always liked the 6MM best, and never looked at anything based on the .243/.308 case, consequently, I developed voluntary blinders when you mentioned the .243, and Page in one breath. :D If you look in "Wildcat Cartridges" by Wolfe...

    Vintage Target Scope Indentification Help

Nice looking glass-holder. How does It "work"? Have you shot it yet??

    6mm super lr

It IS based on the .243............ but it has the shoulder pushed back for a longer neck, reduced capacity, and somewhat higher pressures. The .240 Page Sooper Pooper used the .244/6MM Remington case.

    can anyone tell me.......................

Any Bets on What the Quake Costs US Taxpayers?

In WWII we were................. sold a bill of goods by the white house, thats what got us in that war, the Japanese were just the tool. The Japanese have got plenty of money, and its backed in GOLD if they have to, REALLY have to, use it. The Japanese themselves believe it would take 100...

Opinions on Sierra 165 Gr. HPBT?

I have used it in................ .300s; '06s; and a couple .308s, but actually, and you didn't say what your ranges were, I believe its a bit of overkill on something as light as whitetails. Also, looking back, I switched to the 165 Sierra spitzer boattail instead, for better aerodynamics...

    REm597, trigger

They have some good tutorials on there, and most of those guys accompany them w/some pretty good photos. I'd have to say though, some of the things they do require more courage than sense, so be careful and don't get in over your head. You didn't say what your financial situation is, but Jard...

    When do you neck turn?

I know what you mean...................... when I started asking questions, back in the day, so to speak, guys were wondering why rounds they loaded "...last year..." didn't shoot as well this year. 'Course they didn't clean cases, and they lubed the inside of the necks w/RCBS case lube; and...

    When do you neck turn?

If your 30AR is already in................... a factory rifle, that chamber does not have a tight neck. If it WERE a tight-necked chamber, factory brass would not fit. If you are going to have a boltgun built for that case, you'd have to get an old 30 barrel and have its chamber cut off, then...

    Great Old Photo

"Heavy wool shirt and pants...." TWO shirts and pants :) Must have been a bit snappish there, then. I like those old pictures, too, some nostalgia is good from time to time.

    Benelli M1 auto

Rich; Most of the mounts I've seen are aluminum, w/a steel pin going through, replacing the factory pin. I have one here, but haven't tried it yet. Before Winchester bought BRI slugs there was a Benelli made that had a threaded receiver for the barrel, which was non-removeable, and the Benelli...

    New Marlin 1894C issues?

If you have instructions....................... go inside (once you've shot it a bit) and look for burrs, areas where some 800 grit could be sparingly used to touch a polish up on some parts. The reason for shooting it a bit, (5-600 rounds while developing a load, [158s will work best for...

    .257 Headstamp

I believe that headstamp is of................... a much earlier vintage. The Re stamp was common in the 60s-70s, but I haven't seen it for a long time. The brass ought to be acceptable, but I never mix cases of different manufacturers. I have a friend who has bought 7X61 in the last year, and...

A question on seating depth for varmint rifles.

Two thiongs here.......... 1) I always replace the chamber return spring on any die that has one, (Redding or Bonanza Comp seaters) w/a spring that has about half the weight of its factory predecessor. And, 2) Has anyone seated bullets shy of optimum for any of their rifle's 'sweet spot'...

    Super Bowl Blues

Yeah, Fergie.................. that was the only redeeming quality of "The Blackeyed Peeze" I went over to a friend's house to have dinner and watch the game w/him and his wife. When the "show" came on and Christina was standing there, I said "Watch her screw this up, big-time." My buddy...
