richard, it's only 2 1/2 weeks until dasher season opens in montana. of all the places in the world, we actually had a mild winter, and the snow is gone in most of the valleys. of course it aint over till its over, and that can mean july, haha. hope you wintered well, hope to see you make it...

    Lg stock? HG Brake?

we don't allow a mechanical rear rest in 17 pound either, the gun can have whatever on it, just has to make weight. tom

    Lg stock? HG Brake?

thats correct. as far as missoula, or williamsport, it just can not discharge gasses rearward. tom

    Help... narrowing my search .

al, on the trigger, i would suggest hv without safety and bolt release. brunos has them, but something about the hv being stouter versus the ocasion of a pierced primer. i guess it is built slightly different, would need to call to get actual details. the 6 or 6.5 x 47, drop port...

    Ogive Variance

if you guys were the only two on a relay you could pull one out of the capehart playbook. just look at joe and ask him "witch one of you #*&!'s is shooting for second place?"

    Problems with 6 Dasher

jusk kissing might be your problem. try just in or just out, either one might do better then just kissing. 107 smk, i would favor out/jump a bit. tom

    6mm 8 twist or 8.5 twist???

we use straight 8 twists up here in montana. that don't mean 8.xxx won't work though. we shoot in temps from 4 coats in march, all the way up to 1 coat in august. tom

    Bullet Pointing?

joe, have you checked your p.m.'s? it's ok if you bulge em joe, just seat them backwards(boat tail out), the bulge will act as a spoiler and steer them all into the ten ring. works every time for us:D tom

Obtainable velocity with a 6 dasher

yes it does, i just wanted to make that post so someone doesnt read this thread, and go put 35+grains of 8208 in their dasher and get hurt. but yea, the dasher has the shoulder moved forward a tenth, and the br-dx is basically a 6br(a.i.). allthough, it is a sweet looking case, and prolly has...

Obtainable velocity with a 6 dasher

holy cow, i guess i need to switch to a br-dx. i about had to stand on my dasher to get the bolt open trying to run 33.3 of the new 8208. that was running 3055 fps, and was absolutely over max in my gun. tom

    Bullet Pointing?

90% dashers would be my guess. i tried a 7-300 wsm and failed. does not mean it won't work, only means i could'nt make it work. tom

    Best bullet seating method?

agree with jackie here. wilson is the way to go so you can have less crap to carry to the range to tune seating depth, but wont fix runout. it also should not cause runout, very good tool. tom

    Bullet Pointing?

there is a guy around here with a pink gun, but he won't admit it's pink. no matter he beats up on us bad most days, so we don't give him too much crap. what was the topic??? tom

    Bullet Pointing?

i would never bust on anyone, but you know there is pressure now because she prooved the gun is worthy, haha. we never even had a 3 incher last year, so i dont know where the thought of a 2 someday comes from. need goals i guess. looking at what ken and joel did last year, it's coming...

    Bullet Pointing?

joe, our 6's out here gain 10 maybe 12 inches from pointing. from what i said earlier, i then believe i lose half that when i trim and point. yes the meplat can be closed further, but the end product is a touch shorter. i will eventually decide based stricly on what shoots the best, i could care...

    Bullet Pointing?

my eyes started to hurt when i tried the visual inspection. i take a bearing surface length measurement before and then after, if that number changed, back the darn thing off. the end product is not all the way closed, it is similar to what jason posted. the ones i have trimmed first i have...
