    ARA target dimensions

And we all know it's impossible to copy one of the targets they sell, too, so that must be it. ;)

    ARA target dimensions

Well, it is an 11x17 page, IIRC. And I know, it's fuzzy, that's just their fault. I emailed them before asking if they would put up a good copy, but no reply. And I would say that printed without scaling should give you the correct size. What worries me about ordering targets from them is...

    10/22 rifle barrels

Seriously? Shooting standing off-hand with no supports whatsoever isn't exactly easy. It's just you and your rifle, no slings, not shooting jackets or pants, nothin'. Just you standing there. Or are you not talking about NRA-sanctioned smallbore metallic silhouette matches? I'm fully aware...

    10/22 rifle barrels

I think the point is, groups like those *might* indicate a gun that could be competitive in any of the benchrest disciplines discussed here, *if* they were groups that were shot at 50 yards just like the benchrest targets would be. But they're at 25 yards, and thus tell a whole different story...

    What happened to BKL?

I wasn't saying they should be run out of business. I wasn't saying they're intentionally cheating anyone. But a poorly run business is a poorly run business. Mistakes can happen, we're only human. But continually reoccurring mistakes should at the very least be brought to light by those...

    What happened to BKL?

If you would not deal with BKL directly because of their poor service, why would you buy their products from someone else? That's still supporting the company you supposedly do not want to support. Which means they'll just keep right on doing business the same way they have been. Which means...

    From WhaT I Tested Of

That's not what I meant. My point was like this: people often say if you're trying to test if something actually makes a difference, such as rim thickness or overall round weight, you should do a double-blind test. Doing so would eliminate any concious or subconcious bias, as you wouldn't...

Eley factory glimpse on Guns & Ammo Television

Not sure how old this clip is, but being at the top of their list I imagine it's the latest. Could be wrong. Anyway, they take a quick look around the Eley factory. Wish it was more in-depth, but it's interesting.

    CZ 452 makeover.....................

I don't think there's much going on for .17 HMR as far as benchrest goes, and the ammo is more or less just hunting ammo as a result. They can be very accurate, but aren't always, as you've seen. You'll need to go to .22 LR for widespread benchrest support, which includes the availability...

    CZ 452 makeover.....................

You don't need to use an empty case to dry fire. It is impossible for the firing pin to touch the breech face of the barrel. edit - Take your bolt apart, you'll see why. CZ says it is safe, and I believe them, and I believe the evidence I see when I have my bolt apart.

    CZ 452 makeover.....................

CZ designed their bolt and firing pin such that it is safe to dry fire, as the pin doesn't reach the breech face of the barrel and won't contact it. Someone on rimfire central received word back from CZ stating that they don't see any reason to recommend against dry firing their rifles, and the...

    CZ 452 makeover.....................

The 452 American and the 453 Varmint both use the rear and middle trigger guard screw holes to mount the action to the stock, so, yeah, that'd be the logical place to put one if you're going to do that to the 452 Varmint. You'd think that getting rid of the screw in the barrel would help in the...

On Target, tool for measuring targets/groups

I don't think it'll be any faster for getting only the group size. But if there are times that you would like the other numbers as well, it can save a lot of time. I went through 10 targets with six bulls on them the other day, and I'd hate to think how long it would have taken me to manually...

On Target, tool for measuring targets/groups

Looks like Jeff's nearly done with the initial work for his target group calculator program. If anyone wants to check it out, he's ready for some feedback. http://www.ontargetcalc.com/ It's pretty neat. You scan a target, and then you can mark your bullet holes and it'll give you some...
