Can you share a picture? How'd you bond it?

Brass click part deux - same reamer

I ran into this once I started cutting properly sized chambers. ;) I had to make a body die to 'fix' the brass when used in the tighter chamber. Tired brass simply expanded enough that I needed the body die at each loading so that got tossed. Once-fired didn't have that issue. This was in a...

What tool / cutter setup do you use to turn rifle barrel shanks?

I use these for cleaning up the shoulder and finish profiling.

    reamer chatter - undersized o.d. non-standard bushing i.d.

Just another option for those that find this thread in the future. I've successfully used a cleaning patch in place of the wax paper. Same concept, different material.

    Regulation Interpretation

I read that to mean you couldn't, for instance, install a muzzle brake without a manufacturer's license.

    Regulation Interpretation

I went down a rabbit hole by accident today and came across this page outlining the ATF's proposed rule 2021R-05. The thing that caught my eye was the second paragraph under Licensing of Dealer/Gunsmiths. How do you folks interpret this? Dealer/gunsmiths are not authorized to perform repair...

    Shilen hunting trigger rehab

That describes the trigger in my S&W Shield Plus. And, that trigger is supposedly an upgrade over the older Shield model!

    Lathe

They are good folks and the hobby-machinist forum has, basically, a support group. I, too, added one of their mills two years ago. I went with the 833TV which is the largest benchtop mill. I added the DRO and power feeds and love it.

    Lathe

I'm a hobbyist and have a PM 1340GT with VFD, DRO and proximity stop. It's plenty large enough to do any gunsmith work.

    Kelbly Atlas project

Yep, that's the stuff I was referring to. Most of the information I find on it seems it's mostly used in the aviation industry. I did find this Q/A, though, which suggests it wouldn't be suitable for bedding. Q: How much heat will Metlweld epoxy adhesive take? A: MetlWeld has a maximum...

    Kelbly Atlas project

Not to hijack the thread but has anyone tried, or even heard of, Metlweld? I ran across it for a different application and it looks like it might make a good bedding compound.

    Custom Bench Priming tool

I had that same RCBS seater with Holland's modifications. While nice it doesn't come anywhere near the feel of the Primal Rights CPS tool. Not even close. It's a spendy little tool, that's for sure.

    3 jaw chuck

I have a nice 4-jaw but have used the set-tru 3-jaw for virtually everything. I actually two of them and a set-tru collet chuck. After using those I dislike the 4-jaw unless it's an odd shape I have to hold.

    Custom Bench Priming tool

I have one of the CPS units and a Century21 hand tool. The CPS unit is very, very nice. Working it is quick and smooth and be done with one hand leaving the other free to simply add/remove a case.

Neck Turning Tool for Lathe Mounting

That is slick! I don't turn enough necks to build a fixture like that. But, if someone here wants to make and sell one.....

how can i improve the finish of my bbl threading

Not to the degree of accuracy that I'd like. I've done lots of threads with this method and I have no complaints. I was just making sure I understood that this discussion is regarding compound use.
