    Savage Accutrigger Trigger

To clarify, the difference between the sporter trigger and the varmint trigger is nothing more than a spring change. Those springs are color coded and changing spring tension will definitely have an effect on pull weight. Clip a coil, it makes a difference. The new target trigger I have no...

    Savage Accutrigger Trigger

Yes, the difference is in the spring. They are color coded but it's been a few years and I can't remember which color stands for what.

Lapua 22-250 Anybody heard a timeline on when they will be available? Grafs shows them but are out of stock. Midway has them listed as coming soon. Powder Valley, Brunos doesn't even list them.

    The Remington triangleular(sp)

I think the perceived reason or advantage is rigidity. Whether it helps or not, I don't know. I've sighted in two different ones, and they both shot very well. Well under moa, during the sight in, but I haven't agged one.

    Ruger VTT in .223

Well, it's hard to recommend a smith if you aren't from the Michigan area. I'll give a recommendation though. Since he has a .243, why not use it with heavier bullets which it will sling better anyway and use the .223 for short work. BTW, I have the same Ruger in 22-250 I bought the first year...

    Loose primer pockets....

I can't imagine staking a live primer in place. Wouldn't it be safer to lightly peen the sides of the primer pocket with a center punch to dimple the pocket and take up the slack? I would think one of those automatic center punches would work well though I haven't tried it.

    Wolf LR primers

It wasn't a custom, it was a Tikka. I've never used Wolf before but took a chance on them since they were available. I will try testing them in different rifles before I condemn them. Thanks for that tip, I will measure protrusion and see if I can come up with a mechanical problem with the rifle.

    Wolf LR primers

Just had the same thing happen with primers I feel certain were fully seated. Could you provide a lot number on those primers? My lot number is 7-09 which is probably the manufacture date also and I'm curious if your's may be the same. A few of these actually didn't misfire or require a second...

    Benchrest history

Jim Carmichel's "Book of the Rifle" covers alot of different aspects of rifles/shooting and has a chapter or two on benchrest shooting and the history of how it came about. Great read and very informative.

Backing off FL Dies for Neck Resizing . . .

I do it for several calibers. Loosen the locking nut on the die and screw the die out or upward a full turn or so. Size one of your casings. You can tell how much you move the die by looking at the casing neck and see how much of the neck is being sized. When you get it where you want it, lock...

In Georgia this is legal to hunt hogs.

A few months ago, a fellow came into the local gun store and purchased a Remington R-25 which is chambered in 308. The guys at the gun store then reached under the counter and came out with a case containing a Gen. 4 nite vision scope to mount on it. The guy said he was a farmer and had a hog...

    Hawkeye bore scope question

You won't regret buying the scope or the eyepiece. You may want to upgrade to the LED instead of the bulb that comes in the light.

    Must see TV.

I would have never betted on the eagle in those matchups. Some of the wolves were dispatched very quickly. There was really only one that put up a fight and I thought the eagle was done for till re-enforcements arrived. I wonder how many ealges they lose.

    Red Cross Torture Report --

Jamie That's a very good analogy. Unfortunately, thanks to the freedoms we have, and the politicians' desire to get re-elected, playing fair is all they will do to keep their jobs. Alot of blame is put on politicians and rightly so, but the American peoples weak stomach is also to blame. No...

    Red Cross Torture Report --

Well, I read the report. All 41 pages of it. I've never seen the word "alleged" used so many times. The icrc interviewed the 14 detainees and basically wrote down what these detainees told them about the torture techniques that were used on them. Reckon the detainees were being truthful? Who...
