coaxial rest-Shadetree Eng. needs your input

Butch, I've been eyeing your tops really hard and was expecting to buy one as soon as I finish a 6br build I'm in the middle of right now. Can you tell me what the weight of this rest will be and maybe a price? I will definitely hold off on just the top now to see this new rest. Thanks in...

    Projectile specific accuracy.

Murphy, The 52gr. and 53gr. flat base bullets shot extremely well out of my Ruger MkII Target in 22-250. This rifle does not like bullets with long bearing surfaces but the little short pills it shoots fine. I shot many 5 shot groups in the .3's with this bullet though it wouldn't agg that. As...

    Projectile specific accuracy.

I'm surprised you were able to get the SX bullets to even hit paper at 220 swift velocities. Those bullets come with a warning not to exceed about 3300 or 3400 fps or they may come apart in flight. That bullet was designed to explode at 223 velocities, hence the SX, super explosive. As far as...

    Butch's Twill Patches

Exactly. Too thick and not absorbent at all. I couldn't wait to get through the bag of 1000 I had some time ago. I will never use them again.

    IBS in Dublin GA,,,MGGOA

David, I'm glad to hear this. I've just recently been inquiring about Twin Oaks and talked to a gentleman by the name of Bruce Hinson who has been most helpful. I've been looking for a place to shoot competitively and would like to shoot the Shamrock next year. I hope this works out because I'm...

    Savage Benchrest Rifle

I don't but am very interested in using the action for a 6br build. Would be interested in some feedback from folks that got them as well.

New action on the block! Check it out!!

Skeet, don't worry about it. If you get right down to it, any post made on here where we are talking about some piece of equipment that we use, it can be viewed as advertising. The nice write up that Jackie did on the 8208XBR complete with his test targets could be interpreted as free...

    Browning A-bolt target rifles?

It does have a single set trigger. The whole trigger assembly looks like a thrown together conglomeration of metal till ya figger out exactly what it is. I didn't know it had a single set trigger till I took a look at it. Off the shelf, the trigger broke at a very disappointing 5lbs. 14oz...

Can anyone tell me who made this trigger?

It looks like a Shilen. Their competition model went down to 2oz.

primer pockets loose after only 1 firing

Do you happen to remember the temperature when you shot the ones that loosened the primer pockets verses the other ones? I think your load is a little warm, just trying to nail down why these pockets got loose when others didn't on another day.

primer pockets loose after only 1 firing

Is this a new lot or box of brass that you are using or have you shot some of this brass with the same load and not had the primer pockets loosen up?

primer pockets loose after only 1 firing

Measure casehead expansion on fired casings compared to unfired casings. How loose is loosey goosey? They fall out by themselves, can be pushed in with finger pressure, or just not as much pressure with a hand priming tool? Did you blow any primers during your shooting?

CCI 250 mag primers not igniting?

Your problem is not in the brass. Are you sure that the primers were fully seated? CCI primers have harder cups than the federal primers which means it takes more of a whack from the firing pin to ignite it. You may have a weak/too light firing pin spring or a mechanical problem with the firing...

    Primers

Just bought 5000 Winchester primers from Natchez last month that also are brass colored.
