    Die type need help

Redrock gave you good advice to call Redding. However, I have three Redding full length bushing dies and here's what it says on them: .204 Ruger -- B/FL X8 .20 TAC -- B/FL V8 .17 Rem -- B/FL O8 My wild guess would be that you have a FL bushing die in hand.

    OK, Chargemaster show of hands

Yep, that happened to me a couple times when I first started using my ChargeMaster, but (knock on wood) I haven't pulled that dumb stunt for a looooong time now.

    Loose Primer Pocket Results?

When my Remington 7½ primers don't seat real tight and I want to keep using the casings, I use either CCI 450 or CCI BR-4 primers. The diameter of those two primers is a wee big bigger than the diameter of the Rem 7½ primers and I get a few more firings out of the casings. My point of impact...

    Chronograph question

I had a Chrony F1 and updated to a Chrony Beta Master many, many years ago and am very happy with it. I leave the diffusers on it 100% of the time. The only time I have problems getting readings is when the sun begins to get too low on the horizon. I have had no experience with any of the...

    federal 205 match primers

Remington 7 1/2 primers at Scheel's in Bismarck, ND and Minot, ND for $29.95/M. These prices around $50/M sound like a bad case of greed.

    .204 Ruger opinions .......

Bluto65--I've been shooting a Savage 12VLP in .204 Ruger since June of 2004. I have nothing but praise based on my experience with this caliber. I'm not a very skilled shooter, but I have nailed prairie dogs at 300+ yards, but I usually confine my PD shooting distances to under 250 yards...

Proper method for throating reamer use???

I have a .17 Tactical that has 0" of free bore and want my gunsmith to use a throating reamer to increase the free bore to .040". My gunsmith is somewhat reluctant to try this procedure. Please enlighten me on the steps you would use so you are sure you are only cutting .040" of free bore and...

    Taking The Shine Off Stainless.

There's still a tiny bit of shine to my SS barrel, but I sure like the looks of what my gunsmith did on my barrel. I don't know the exact details of how he does this, but I think he mentioned having the barrel chucked up in the lathe and then he uses an orbital sander and runs it up and down...

    Neck Turning tools

L.G--It is not necessary to have the pilot jack attached to the neck turner body when you are turning necks. The jack is only necessary when you want to make accurate adjustments to the position of the pilot.

    RCBS 10-10 Finer View

I don't have a photo of the thing I rigged up, but I took a magnifying glass that is about 3.5" x 2" and is in a plastic frame. It had a female threaded socket where a handle used to be attached and that is what I threaded onto a fine threaded machine bolt and fastened it up in the shelf in...

    Why a 3 groove barrel

I thought theory about the lands lasting longer sounded real good. I don't shoot real hot loads and don't let my barrel heat up much when shooting in colony rodent areas. However, the throat on my .17 Remington super match grade stainless steel Pac-Nor barrel was toast after a documented 1,100...

Praire Dog Hunting on the cheap?

kbbgood--here's a link right from the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Web site. If you look on page 20 of this PDF document, you will find prairie dog town locations. To narrow down your search a little more, you should plan on purchasing some National Grasslands maps though. Some National...

    RCBS 1500 surprise...

Rustystud--I have had my ChargeMaster for about three years now and while I do leave it on 24/7/almost 365, I have never had it start to try to throw a charge on its own. It may be time to call RCBS and see if there is a recall on your machine or if they have a remedy for this problem.

    Electronic Powder Dispenser

I am not a benchrest shooter, but I am a bit anal about the accuracy of the weight of my powder charges. I use my RCBS ChargeMaster 1500 to throw the charge and then dump that into the pan that sits on my Denver Instruments MXX-123 digital scale. That way, if the ChargeMaster is off on the...
