Very Mild Conditions Yield Great Scores At Tomball!

We had a great morning to shoot our first VFS Club Match of the season at Tomball. Had a good turnout with 19 shooters.

The conditions were very mild. Overcast sky, about 65 degrees, with just a very gentle breeze lightly shifting from left to right.

Jackie Schmidt took advantage of a great tune and the mild conditions to nail 25 X's, with a whole bunch of wipeouts.

Ed Bernabeo took second with a 250 21x, and Jim Barron took third with a 250 20x.

I don't think I have ever seen these great conditions hang around for an entire Agg at Tomball. It wasn't a "trigger pull", but pretty darned close.

Thanks to the Tomball Gun Club for hosting these Matches.

Our next VFS Match at Tomball will be the Texas State Varmint For Score, Sunday, April 22.However, Tomball will be hosting it's NBRSA Group Match, The Crawfish, February 24/25, LV 100, HV 100, and HV 200, and LV 200.

Here are some pictures.

What size group

Would those 25 holes make? That barrel you should save for big shoots :).

Great Shootin Jackie

Wow! You've convinced me...I'm gonna start using RCBS partner presses too. Gotta be them. No other reason for these kinda scores you constantly shoot. Great shooting Jackie.

Great job of doping and executing, Jackie. :) Not a bad day for Ed, either. Wow - consecutive weeks of 25X by Texans - that's keepin' 'em ON the X! RG

Were you using the new Lederer barrel that you got from Michael?

No.

This barrel is a Krieger from the 2016 shooting season. It's on it's 3d setback, it only measures about 20 1/2 inches long now.

I was shooting BIB 112's, 34.4 grns of 4198, about a .015 jump, light neck tension.
