USA V AUS Postal Test Match 1st July 2012

Nice scores Todd, thanks for the congrats, really should have been a 3 target record, damn storm i dropped 10 points in that 1 card, luckily everyone else dropped more.

At Bill's prompting I have found B Central and registered.
Yesterday was my third shoot with a great bunch of fellows, Trials, World Postal and yesterday's OZ USA challenge. Most enjoyable. Congratulations Bill but next time pick better weather!

Congratulations to Todd, Rick and Dan for besting us!

Reading through I noticed interest in my rifle choice for the World Postal. The BSA Hornet .22 came down to 18 fpe for that shoot. Try as I might I couldn't get it under 12 fpe for this challenge, so borrowed a mate's FWB P70 and got it down from 14+ fpe to 11.8 fpe with Kodiaks. Was allowed 5 shots before the match to get it on target and it then shot well for 729.21.

Thanks to those who helped me into serious BR, for the loan of gear and instructions on the intricacies of an ancient borrowed front rest. On one card, with a willy willy wind the thing wouldn't go down to the last target row until I found the secondary adjustment and with others watching in the spotter scopes, got the last shot off with 2 seconds to spare! ... Exciting stuff. Can only improve. ............ Martin Rutterford is building RAW TM 1000 # 82 for me this week for my own proper BR rifle. Watch out now Bill :). ... Kind regards, Harry.

Harry,
Welcome to BR and Benchrest Central. You do have a great bunch of fellows to shoot with and learn from and you'll find that benchrest shooters around the world are the most helpful people you'll ever meet. I've been shooting RF BR for about 10 yrs and AG for 1 and I've never been involved with a sport before where so many people will go out of their way to help you beat them! And, as someone who rolled 1500 pellets yesterday, I'd like to say THANK YOU for your contributions to airgun accuracy!!
Todd

LV / HV break-down for Aus/ USA friendly.

Cris, could we have an LV/ HV breakdown for these USA results. All the AUS team shot LV sub-12 fpe.
Thanks, kind regards, Harry.

Harry,

We were using world postal rules, so there was no concern to rifle class. I can say that Team USA Oregon all shot FWB P70s that were HV. Thanks for your participation.

Thanks Cris. I too shot a P70 borrowed and tuned down to 11.8 fpe. Beautiful rifle.
I can't go on borrowing things. The TM 1000 #82, that I ordered to get into this game, has left Tennessee yesterday for OZ.
I'm hopeful that it will come through safely. LH stock, 18 fpe .177.
Best regards, Harry.

Paul,

Todd is having a match on July 1 in Salem, Joe Friedrich will be having one at Open Grove on July 8. Pete is welcome to host a match on July 14, if you guys can find a third shooter for your team. Let me know.

I surely would like to find a third shooter up here. I would like to be involved in a future event if possible.

Pete,

You are welcome anytime to volunteer your team for future postal matches.
