My post count says 4, but I have posted many more times than that !!!!!!!!!

I normally look at many post's just to gather knowledge and information so I dont post much but if I ever have a re-buttal or a question for Mike in Co.
it is sensored or deleted with in 12 to 24 hours everytime.
My question is.............is he a sacred cow?????????? or does he have some type of a handicap that I should be aware of????????? why does he get special treatment?????????

As a Moderator, I have never deleted one of your post, but that is not to say that one of the other Moderators have not seen cause to do so.

All I can say is we show no preference to anyone. If one chooses to come on this Site and make comments that the Moderators consider rude, or otherwise out of line, those comments will in all likely hood be removed.

I feel that if Wilbur felt a SuperModerator was playing favorites with his Moderation Function, that individual would be removed as a Benchrest.com Moderator ............jackie

That's a good and fair question. You'd think when someone makes an unsubstantiated claim that 99% of the people here know is false and it's presented in a way that appears to be an insult to the collective knowledge of that same 99% as if we're all idiots or something, the mods would zap his posts in suspicion of him being a troll. Not zap the posts from the guys who questioned it.:(
Maybe there are a few "sacred cows" with backdoor deals? I don't know, but I applaud the fact that you were one of the one's who were brave enough to question something that your instincts told you was fishy. Some might look at it as being "argumentative" but I think it's more along the lines of standing up for yourself.

Unsubstantiated Claims

Who is to say??

At this moment, the big rub seems to be, "will a Rifle based on a AR Platform perform, at a competitive level, in Registered Benchrest Competition".

We now have the venue at hand that will answer this question. The IBS has seen fit to allow AR based Rifles to compete in the same venue as Sporter, LV, and HV. In other words, sit down at the bench, and within a seven minute time period, put five shots in a group, with the moving backer in operation. Brutully simple.

It will be interesting to see how many serious AR shooters see fit to enter this fray, heck, it is darned difficult to stay competitive with a Rifle that is specifically designed to do what we do, much less start out with a system that in it's basic form was designed to operate in a setting that is not codusive to extreme accuracy.

If you think about it, look how ridiculous some of the things we do must look to the vast majority of the shooting public. A good example is the velocities that we achieve with a 68 grn 6mm bullet from a case that only holds a tad over 30 grns of powder. The first reaction to shooters who are not involved in Benchrest would be, "you guys are lying", or "you need to get your Chronograph fixed". That reaction comes from the ignorance of the shooting system that allows a Benchrest Rifle to operate at 70,000 psi with no ill affects.

Even the accuracy achieved can be viewed as suspect. How many times have you showed someone your targets from a match, and they say, "yeh, but how do they know you put five shots in that group". When you explain the moving backer system to them, they sort of say "oh". But you can still sense the doubt, They simply do not understand the perameters of this game, and what it takes to achieve that level of accuracy and precision.

We tend to get our panties all in a wad when shooters question our achievements, or say that they can achieve the same results form equipment that is not "typical" to Competitive Benchrest. But, as I said before, we now have the venue to see for ourselves. Who knows, an entire industry just might develop with one goal in mind, to make a semi-auto platform shoot at the same accuracy and level of precision as a turn bolt Rifle that was specifically designed for The Competitve Arena of extreme accuracy........jackie

Lets see . . . Barrel Butcher, would you prefer it if we gave a match report on BR Central something like this:

A rifle built by XYZ, using an ZYX barrel, with a YZX bullet, and an ABC scope, a BCA stock . . .

I remember the thread you speak of. Kelbly was not advertising a product. He was announcing a new product. There are a number of people who do that on BR Central. Several times moderators have stepped in to POST TO THAT THREAD when the person is goes a bit beyond "announcing." When it does happen, I know I haven't removed any such threads, & I don't think Jackie or Dennis or Bill have done so either.

I don't imagine this will satisfy you. Wonder what would?

It's Wilburs' forum and as far as I am concerned.....he can do whatever he wants, when he wants. This is not a democracy.....he owns it. I don't have to come here if I don't like it, that's my choice.

I think wilbur and the moderators do a fine job (I've had posts deleted...deservingly so). Heck, the first time I met Wilbur, I apologized to him, in case I had caused any problems.

thanks for a wonderful site wilbur....
