We had 6 shooters for the US vs. UK postal match today with Dan Brown, Rick Ingraham and myself shooting as Team USA East and Paul Bendix shooting as an individual for the Postal along with Frank Monroe shooting USARB Production class and Fred Blank shooting Springer. The weatherman was right on the money , except for the part where he said the sun would come out in the afternoon. Temps were in the mid 40's at the start of the match and rose to the low 50's by the end of the afternoon with occasional moderate to heavy rain and light, switchy wind. A little chilly, but much nicer than what Team USA West 2 had to deal with last week! We shot the Postal match in the morning, then shot another match after lunch. Here are the results from both matches:

Springer

A big thanks to Pete Roberson for scoring today, and thanks to all the shooters who helped out with set up and tear down! It was a fun day and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the next match!

Great scores, but who is this Dan Brown fella?

Congratulations to all that shot posting some very impressive scores. Paul, it looks like your new toy has some potential and will keep the rest of us honest for a long time to come.

Glad to see Franky made the trip.

Hope to see you all on April 21st at Pinnacle. I'll be missing the April 7th Holbrook Indoor Challenge due to a friends daughter deciding she just had to get married on that particular day. Oh well!

Todd, good luck with the 50Y workout of the Dawson.

Dave

Thank You all for coming and shooting . Dan is one of the most precise shooters I have seen and his great scores show it .

Rick

Dan, holy cow batman! You be cookin with gas.. Congrats, and thanks for scoring high for team USA. Who is this guy named Dan Brown?? anyway:)

These postal matches do create a longing in me to get together again with the whole world's air gun shooters.. and do some "shoulder to shoulder" shootin!!

I'm thinking we need to introduce some sort of handicapping system, for Dan I'm going to suggest 6ft/lbs

From what seems to be less than ideal conditions that is one hell of a score, well done Dan.

Brian

Good shooting all, sorry I missed it. I see Dan's got his MOJO back ( never a doubt)! Todd I think when you get the new Dawson sorted out it will be hard to even see your tail lights. See you all next shot.

Mark

Dan,
I scored those targets and I will say they were impressive, all those X's sure made it easy and the 250 WOW great job!!
Great shooting to everyone!

Hey Rick, what happened to all your hair? Honestly, I had to take a second look to recognize you.

And Pete, where did the bottom half of your pants go. A little cool for shorts, wasn't it? Oh, wait a minute, I get it. You were just showing off, right.

Again, great shooting by all, especially by Mr. Dan Brown. A nicer guy you will never meet! And, here again, I want to draw your attention to the fact that he's still doing all this while only using BAGS front and rear as his rest.

Sorry Dave,
I quit wearing them February 13th and put them back on March 13th just so I didn't have to hear about it during to cold winter we had!!:)

Pete,

That would have been my next guess. )chill( )chill(

Thank's Everyone for all the help when My so called POA went away(ha-ha). Scary how good these Guy's are,250 in the Rain,Congrat's Dan the Man.Todd's 50y first time ever, waite till He learn's 50y, Watch out. 8hrs traveling 50$ gas, well worth the Trip to Salem NY.First Class Range Todd.....Franky

I'm glad everyone had a good time and enjoyed our range, although I think Dan enjoyed it more than most! I posted some pictures of the range over on the Team USA vs UK thread. Wayne, you are absolutely right, it would be great to be able to get together again. Maybe someone will start up a club in the Mid West someday where we can all meet in the middle instead of having to drive 3000 miles!

Brian, I don't know if 6ftlbs would be that much of a handicap for Dan. We do know his weakness, though. When his windicators get wet and stop working, his agg is 6 points lower....but it's still good enough to win:eek: We're hoping to have a sprinkler system installed before his next visit just so we can stay close to his scores:D
See everyone at the next shoot,
Todd

Lol, no sprinklers please;) You just gave me an idea though Todd, an umbrella for each windicator.
Hey Wayne come over for the regional shoot in August. My brother, that was at the worlds, will be there with his smoker doing some cooking.
Thanks Dave. I do want to get a mechanical rest soon. I like that SEB NEO rest, if I can get my hands on one.
Dan

Dan,
Is Tom definitely going to cook for us?? That will be awesome, and you'll have to let me know in advance what he'll need for supplies!
Oh, and those umbrellas? You'll have to attach them to the bottom to protect your magic windicators from the sprinklers:p
Todd

I'm pretty sure he will, he was very excited at the prospect of bringing his smoker.

I bet there is a nice place to shoot in Missouri or some other central state... Who's out there to check out facilities?

I'm sure we could organize a USA Championship late this fall... We are hosting the AAFTA field target Championships on Sept 28th to 30th at Grants Pass Oregon... so either a month before or after that event would be best... after would be best for me..

Dan,
Now that's a great cooking setup your brother's got!

That Dan Brown fellar

Gentlemen, I would like to interject a bit of clarity into the results of the afore mentioned match......You see I sent Mr. Brown up an action a few months ago for refinment so to speak allowing him a ton of liberty to make the little gem shoot. It is my belief that it was in fact MY refined action and bbl that he was testing and shooting that produced these outstanding scores. He is a bit modest as you all know so understandably as the true sportsman and low key individual he is, he probably failed to to take credit for such outstanding work.

I can hardly wait till he ships that little beauty back.........................Frank
