Redding die question

I have a Redding Competition seater die in 6PPC. I'm building a 6.5 PPC gun, and was wondering if the sliding sleeve in the Redding die can easily be opened up to accommodate 6.5 caliber?? Are the sliding sleeves hardened??

The Reddingsleeves are not hardened and are easy to open up or Ackley-ise at your pleasure. You can test the hardness with a file.

Keep in mind, you also have to address the seating stem, as it is also contained in the sliding sleeve assy.

As to your question, the sleeves are quite sofy, probably machined from 12L40 or some other free machining steel.
