Reccomend Gunsmith in Pa

I have a Winchester 52D that had a lot of work done to it when I bought it (Barrel set back turned down, fluted, etc..) But it seems that a weight was added to the end of the barrel permananently (Thought it was removeable when I bought it) But the barrel seems to have been turned down a lot the last few inches then the weight was simply fastened on over the barrel. I am looking to have a gunsmith cut the barrel at the end of the weight and then recrown the barrel. I am going to use this as a silhouette gun and I dont think it will make weight with the weight on the end. Would you guys recommend getting the barrel cut ? Or should I try and do something else with it? I really dont want to take it somewhere and have a gunsmith screw it up and make it shoot like dirt........Any input is appreciated..

Well, I live in Central Pa, but I go to college in Wilkes Barre, but I would be willing to travel most anywhere to make sure that it is done right.....

All others mentioned above are goods smiths too.

If you live in Central PA you could also try Eric Springman outside of Allenwood or Ted Ulmer in Potters Mills outside of State College.

Is a barrel with a built in tuner. I would sooner find another barrel and sell that one to someone who can use it for what it was designed for.

Pa. abounds in great gunsmiths. Your best bet, in my opinion, is to go to a RF specialist. Many of those mentioned are covered up in CF work and may not do RF work.
