Primer seating squish

My best results

have always come when I had my head into the match and was able to read what the wind flags and probes told me.
Oh, and having my ammo loaded as perfectly as I could do it. :)

If there was a supposed issue with primer seating / ignition, wouldn't the chronograph show SD's with high numbers ? Just a thought for diagnosing a known good load that goes crazy for an unknown reason?

Keith,

I haven't used their SRs, but my ES came down from 20s to under 10 seating PMC Russian LRs with the recommended .003" squish in my F/TR rifle.

Went to the website, but couldn't tell if you can add the "gauge" to an existing K&M priming tool.

Far as that goes, I have a spare .0001 dial indicator, but its pretty large, and a spare .001 that's quite small...

What does the indicator ride on?

TIA

John,
I must admit that the thing probably deserves more thorough testing than I gave it. But after seeing that it can't compensate for anvil protrusion variations, I don't have confidence that it will help.

If you would be willing to share your data and are interested, I will analyze your drop in ES to see if it is statistically significant.

Thanks,
Keith

Charles,
I isn't something that can be added. It has a mechanism, not just the indicator, that measures the pocket depth relative to the primer thickness.
