Opinions on scopes for light varmint build

I will be needing a scope for a light varmint BR rifle. I have been looking at used Leupold 36X BRD, new 36X Weaver, new 36X Sightron. I have heard that Leupold is running thin on parts for their older 36X scopes therby making any warranty repairs pretty tough. I would value your learned opinions, but I really don't want to see anyones product bashed...Just your opinions on the various scopes available.
Thanks
Mark

I think I put this in the wrong category. If someone can move it to Centerfire BR or other, Please do so.

there is a difference in cheaper and less expensive.........sometimes seen on a target

JMOP...

Two >currently 2010 / 2011< produced Weaver T36s bought and both have Identical as best I and others can tell, optical overall quality... Same is true for the mechanicals, positive consistent clicks / consistent POI movement during "clicking around"... Have plenty confidence in them @ Commence Fire Command...

Have one T36 that dates back to around 2005, It's a little less clear / tint towards grey... My new T36's are as Good as my beloved B&L 36's in optical quality >Brightness/Color quality..

Do know this, I've never had to send a Weaver back to the manufacturer for any reason.... Lucky, may be I...?.

So, with a lifetime warranty, what do you think Leupold is going to do if they can't repair your 36x BRD? My guess is that you'd get a brand spanking new LCS.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am still thinking about it.

I bought a Sightron Straight 36X last year and I like it much better than the Weavers I have . It has better optics than my Leup Comp and has a Lifetime guarantee as well; around $400, I think.

A friend likes the Sightron Big Sky 36, and they are very good on warranty, (although he has not needed his). The March 40s have a good reputation for holding settings, but the optics of the Leupold 45x45 look better to me. I shoot an old B&L 4200 series 36X with a closeup lens (+2) screwed onto the eyepiece, and I think that it looks just fine, compared to anything that I have seen. I understand that the IOR 36 is an excellent scope, and if you buy a Weaver new, so that you have the warranty, I think that they have done a good job for a number of shooters. I got the chance to use an old Leupold 36, and IMO the optics were not as good as my B&L.
