Can anyone help identify or add some history to this old Eric Johnson rifle ?

Its matching serial numbers barrel and stock as #1361 - 2/17/56, the action says #1 and as far as I can tell is a Winchester 52 copy using a Win 52 bolt. The barrel is stamped Eric Johnson, 5 Stars and the number 8.

I plan to sell it and have absolutely no clue as to its value or history, any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help

I don't have any history but it's worth at least a couple hundred and, because I'm a nice guy and real generous, I'll give you twice that...8>)

Not really enough good pictures to ID. It sure is interesting though. If you have some more pictures detailing the receiver please post them or you can email them direct to seewinr@aol.com. I collect 52's and all things 52, so I find it very interesting. There were many 52 clones manufactured by various individuals. I have seen another that look's similar, but without better pictures of receiver and components, I cannot tell for sure. I have sent a PM to you as well.

I have seen that name, Eric Johnson on here before. I see it is #8 and is dated. I am thinking it is worth quite a bit to an Eric Johnson collector, which I'm sure exists.

Bolero,
Seewin is an absolute master of identification of old Win 52's and their clones. Take his word for it. He is also a really good guy. Send him the pics up close around the receiver from a couple of sides and the bolt and he can tell you what you have.

Hi Bolero,
You have a pm on Rimfirecentral.

Might be that my source and Seewin both come up with the same answer. Either way, it should be interesting.

Take care,

Greg

Thank you all for the information provided.

I believe its true worth can only be ascertained by a collector of Eric Johnson barrels and such and I'm not even sure there is such a person other than 404 Greg or Seewin.

If anyone is interested and would like to make an offer (it is for sale and may end up on GunBroker or in Classifieds here.) please Email me at ctlama@yahoo.com, all will be kept in confidence.

I've added a few more pictures to the OP showing the Macmillian stock that also comes with the gun, it is Glass and Pillar bedded and it is a shooter, it is Drilled and Tapped for scope mounts or a base.

Additional pictures are available.
