I posted a reply on another thread about these courses and decided to start a thread so not to hijack the other thread. I am going to one in Troy NC in about two weeks for a metal shop course. They show you how to run metal shop equipment includeing mills and lathes. Any body doing the same this summer either in Troy or one of the other schools?

I took the machine shop course 3 years ago(instructor John Davis) and then took the James Messer accurizing class, both guys do a great job and really make the class a serious learning experience that's fun, you'll meet life long friends in the class and @ MCC(great place.great equipment and really great staff). Call wes @ the inn at eagle springs (15-20 minutes)for the best place to stay with a really good breakfast

These classes are a great learning experience with lots of information passed on in a short time frame. well worth the time and expense.

They have a long list of courses offered during the summer. The ones in Troy are full. My class runs from May 18 - 29 I think. Go to http://www.nragunsmithing.com for a list of schools and schedules. I think there are five schools that offer these courses.

If you are Maine the school in Troy NC is the closest to you.

Anybody tried the courses at Lassen Community College in Northeastern California? That's the campus closest to me.

Hi Nick,
I'm afraid they have cancelled the courses due to the pandemic outbreak. You may also check Trinidad State Jr. College’s 2020Summer NRA Program, but most probably it must have started already.
Try to find a suitable NRA Training Course here:
