Leupold carbon fiber scope tube?

Any word on the rumored Leupold carbon fiber scope tube for BR shooters they are supposed to be making? I remember in the late '80's or early '90's B&L or Bushnell had a scope out on the cover of one of the gun rags. Never saw much or heard of it since the mag article. Sounded like a good idea.

I would suspect you might see something at the Supershoot.
My question would be, what good is a Carbon Fiber Tube if you do nothing to address the internal problems.??

Give Leupold a chance !

That might have bought a March, torn it apart and figured out how to make a scope stay still inside !! :)

I'd bet they did get one and tear it apart.......I'd also bet they've been inside the B&L, Weaver, and Nightforce too.

Is it pride that gets in the way of scrapping the 50 year old design, or, maybe they just couldn't get the others apart to see inside................

The problem with inventions

the ones that don't work well anyway is the creator will keep trying to make a flawed concept work. I think Dave is right here, it must be pride that keeps them trying because education would dictate that they need to try something else. ;)

Roger that! The old NIH (Not Invented Here) syndrome is pretty strong in most American businesses. That arrogance was not so strong in Japan, they would copy a better idea in a minute if it improved their product, that's why their autos come on so strong and so fast while Detroit stagnated and dropped behind.
