Joe Krupa - Candidate for NBRSA Eastern Region Director

We've heard from everyone except Hobie

Jim Kelby doesn't want resiprosity.

Lou Murdica doesn't want resiprosity.

DAve Holbum wants to stick together.

Wilbur says its all about the magazine.

Krupa wants more members and wants to do what the members want.

What is Hobie's view on respirosity.

Does anyone know what Hobies votin record is.

And doesn't he work for Kelbys.

Im confused.

Lou, considering the fact that there has been 1500+ viewings of this Thread. I think the internet (and this blog) provides a great opportunity for an incumbent Director to expound his position on the issues discussed above.

I'm from the Eastern Region, and Hobie can respond to me and others who just received their runoff ballot today in the mail.

Well, you got my attention, Just what IS the real issue in this election. Perhaps that is what the Eastern Region Members, and the rest of the NBRSA membership, would be benefited by knowing.......jackie

Jackie I cannot

say as I know the real issue. But I CAN say that it is not something that outside interests have any real issue with. The Eastern region and ONLY the Eastern reagion should decide this election. Then and only then does it become the concern of the rest of the BOD. May the BEST man win!!!!!!!!!!!

This election is about....

..... communication with the members of the Eastern Region.

It's also about being able to face the facts - even when those facts may not be something you want to hear, listen to members and being willing to take a proposal to the Board that some may view as unpopular.

It's about giving members the opportunity to at least believe that they can talk to the Director and he will listen; instead of telling them there is no way that what they are asking will have a chance of being listened to.

It's also about understanding that the Director's repsonsibility is to the entire membership. It is a leadership position, but with that position comes the responsibility to serve the greater good of the members.

The ballots have been mailed. Please take the time to vote.

Giving back...

Each December we have a meeting at the Harrison Sportsmans Club to set the following years' match schedule. We try hard not to have date conflicts with other, bigger matches.

Last December Joe Krupa drove nearly 200 miles in the winter to attend our meeting, picking up Steve Robbins on the way. Why did he do so? Because he thought small matches were the breeding ground for new shooters and he wanted to do whatever he could to support same. Bottom line... last years' SOY and the Super Shoot winner were at a club meeting in the middle of the Northwoods, far from home, to help the sport.

Part of the meeting was devoted to discussing our new rimfire match program. Joe bought enough rimfire targets to last at least a couple of years. He didn't make a big deal of it, I doubt if many people even know where the targets came from. He just quietly did it to help.

What kind of man is Joe Krupa, well here's a true story. This January I met Joe for lunch as I was taking his shooting equipment to the Cactus and we met halfway from out homes. We meet for lunch, talked, an as usual had a good time. At the end of lunch this old guy sitting at the next table asked Joe if he knew anything about guns, Joe said yea I know a little. Well.......... this guy has a Remington 700 in .223 that didn't shoot, Joe starts explaining twist, powder and bullets to him. Well, we are finished eating so I head out to warm up the truck to pack up Joe's equipment. After sitting in the truck for who knows how long I go out in the cold weather to see just where Joe was as I was getting ready to go looking for him. Another 10 minutes rolls around and here comes Joe and his friend. Now he's pulling out guns and scopes to show this guy in the cold weather the equipment he uses for BR. The last thing he tells his friend is, you have my email and cell phone number, call me if you have any other questions. We pack Joe's stuff in my truck and I say, you know that guy? Joe said, no, he saw I was wearing a gun hat an asked me a question. This is the type of person Joe Krupa is, one who is willing to not only listen but, to help anyone at any time. I've seen him do this many times. This is the kind of person I want as a director, I hope you do too.

This is a great sport......

when we have a choice between 2 such highly qualified people for director.

This is the only sport I know of where you go to a beautiful private campground, the cost of camping is cheap, all your best friends are there, very few kids, and you get to shoot guns too! What could be better?

In our region we have had several directors over the 17 or so years that I have been shooting. Hobie has done an admirable job, and certainly would continue to do a fine job if reelected. He and Kathie have certainly contributed beyond any expectations, and we have all benefited greatly.

Thank you Hobie, very much!!!

Joe is a very goal oriented person who has been persuing a destination in this sport with extreme passion and perseverence. Along the way he has contributed and helped many people in a quiet unassuming way that isn't as obvious to some as it is to me. I have personally benefitted greatly from my friendship with Joe Krupa.

We have a lot of fun with calling him "buy high, sell low Joe". There is a lot of truth in this, but the real truth is that many new shooters and shooters with limited funds have benefitted greatly by Joe's willingness to sell something to someone at a bargain price or give away something that he no longer needs so a shooter can improve or stay in the game. There are many examples of this, but one that comes to mind is this. There was a young shooter who was down on his luck financially, who came to the Super Shoot one year without a barrel for his rifle that was any good at all. Joe had a used barrel that he knew was quite good, but he didn't need at the time. Joe gave this barrel to the young man, who ended up winning the Super Shoot with that gift.

I have seen him many times at matches with new shooters, helping them get started in the right way. He has given of his time and talents to be an instructor at the recent benchrest school in Tawas. Without him there would be significantly fewer shooters in this game.

Thank you Joe for the many ways you have helped so many of us!!!!

Now Joe has succeeded in achieving his goal and he feels an obligation to give back in other ways. He knew that he was not able to be director in the past and be as committed as necessary in order to serve the region well. We have talked about this a lot, and I know that in order for Joe to have made this decission, he is now committed. He has the time now and he has the talent. He is a very good listener and he is able to discern from other peoples ideas and opinions what is good for the majority. He is a real good negotiator, diplomat and will not jump into situations without proper understanding.

I believe that Joe Krupa is our best choice at this time to represent the Eastern Region as director, and I am blessed that he is my friend.

Sincerely,
Larry Feusse

1) It's all about rifle accuracy.

2) How do we know that Lou Murdica is not an alias? Hmm.... I've seen it (and "Bogie") on match reports tho...

3) It's all about rifle accuracy.

4) Jim - Never say "never." Because it'll happen, even if it seems completely unlikely. Especially if it is really dangerous, and requires a combination of extreme stupidity and specific actions, usually performed by induhviduals with mullets. But I digress...

5) It's all about rifle accuracy.

Joe, when are you ever going to find time to drive that Mustang that was supposed to take some of the pressure off the shooting game?

That aside I want you to know that I would definitely vote for you if I still was in the Eastern Region, but I have moved on. So what is all the fuss about the 'R' word, it is really scandalous and has got a lot of the old dog hairs standing up, eh.

Joe is one of the nicest guy's I know, he always has time to help out a new or an experienced shooter out. I was at our local range (WWCCA) back in the day and Joe was there with that old yellow gun, as I was looking it over he said go ahead and shoot it a couple of times, that was all it took for me to get hooked. I bought my first rifle from Joe, but I think just about everyone has or had at one time owned a gun that Joe owned. I still have that rifle, it still shoots well. Joe do you still have 'old yell-er'?

Old Yeller.

Dan and friends,

My beloved Teddy #9244 in an Adamowich stock is having it's bolt face opened up and a couple of .30 BR barrels chambered. It's going to live out its retirement years as a .30BR, with some old 6 PPC barrels just in case.

To all, thanks for the kind words and support. Regardless of where this election goes, this is the best game and the best people there are.

Joe K
