How may I obtain the best .270 Wnchester brass?

Who makes the best .270 Winchester brass?

I could neck down some 30-06 brass if it were top quality.

Any sugestions?

Stay well,

Zeke

What is your definition of best?

1. Long lasting
2. Uniform
3. Most available.
4. Least expensive.
5. Softest
6. Hardest
7. Case Capacity

Are just a few things that come into play when picking brass. What you consider best for your purpose may be worst for my intended purpose.

Buy a bulk bag of Remchester. Sort by weight. You'll be surprised how good they are. They will probably shoot better than you can. ;) ;)

I forgot to add - about 1/4th Baileys, 3/4ths coffee.

Zeke,
Best also depends on what kind of shooting you are going to use it for.
If its a standard factory rifle used for average shooting then you probably wont see any real difference in good better and best brass except the amount money you spend.

Hmmmm? MacDonalds--but it's too hot to drink. Dunkin Donuts is a close second.

C'mon vic you're slipping, any good 99%er knows that McDonalds is for spilling on yerself to earn your retirement, not for drinking. That's why it's hot like that.

BTW in the 30yrs I've spent here on the left coast "Dunkin's" has tried and failed at least 6 times in our area. My east coast friends are all bummed when they're out here unless they hit one of the windows where there's an open store within 50mi...... then they'll drive there for a cup!

Too funny.

I drink about a gallon of coffee a day and wouldn't drive one mile for a cup.

Who makes the best coffee?
Whatever medium roast Costco repackages & sells as their own. Right now it's a silver bag with a picture of a panther.

Just in case y'all didn't know it, French Roast was developed to cover up defects in the coffee, just like French cooking was developed to hide the somewhat ripe meat. Doesn't make it bad, just so's you know the why of it.

I'd drive a mile for good coffee. I'm Norwegian. What does that mean? They told my grandfather he'd have to stop drinking coffee or it would kill him. His answer? Where do you think Jack Benny got the joke? (Except unlike Benny [maybe] he kept on drinking coffee.)

Oh, the .270? Far as I'm concerned, Ray got it in post #4.

You've got discriminating taste Charles ;)

I live right in the middle of Coffee Heaven with probably two dozen roasters within easy driving distance. Coffee here is like wine elsewhere, and I buy from Costco!

I like the gourmet roast. It's called Pleasant Hill Farms out here and comes in 5lb foil bags. I've been perty much exclusively buying from Costco for nigh on 5yrs altho a really fine Egyptian Harrar will get me to spend stupid money once't in a while.

Who are you calling a 99 percenter???? I'm a 1 percenter and proud of it!

My name is Wilbur Harris and I'm a coffee snob.

Buy a bag of "Tribute" beans at Starbucks and grind yourself a pot of that stuff - brew it a bit stiffer than you would normally. I can't afford it regularly but that's a good thing. Not a good thing that I can't afford it but a good thing that I don't buy enough of it to spoil my favorite.

You could neck down any 30-06 brass. Laupa would be my first choice.

Terry
What the hell does that have to do with coffee?

& just BTW, I used Lapua .30/06 brass for my 6.5/06 AI. Two different lots, over three years For some reason, it was junk. About 50% of the cases had wall variation over .004. As a general rule of thumb, '06 brass is known for being held to lower tolerance standards. YMMV.

Now, back to coffee...

Making 270 brass from 30-06 cases has been going on since the 270 made its first appearance. You're right that the cases will be shorter than specs, but they still shoot just fine.
