As long as the discussion stays civil, perhaps this is a good time to let everybody get this off their chest. Since there are quite a few responces, there is obviously many with an opinion.

One thing I have learned through this discussion, (and a few in the past), is there is, among quite a few shooters, a "us against them" mentallity. I even used to hold a lot of these feelings myself.

But, since I have been exposed to more aspects of extreme accuracy shooting, I have learned that there is much information that can be shared by all who are willing to put forth the effort in an attempt to solve what I call "the accuracy equation".

Of course, Wilbur can do as he pleases. My only responsibility as a Moderator is keep the vile language and rude behavior at a mimimum...........jackie

Dave;

My comment may have been taken somewhat out of context, (if you will)
It was not about cardholders having more knowledge, but to insure that the people posting here would be a member of NBRSA -IBS.

The name of the centerfire forums herein is "Competition Benchrest", and is to include all people from all lands. Being a registered member is not too much to ask.
On that note, we cannot participate in a registered match unless we are in fact..a member.

i am a registered member. i am registered at the range where i shoot competitive br. yes it is CLUB br. so our friends from down under have to become US members to post on your new board , and the guys from so. africa ? i let my national membership lapse when i could see it would be a while before the guns were ready for BR competition.

Why not add a star by a posters screen name if he/she is a registered shooter with a recognized org. You could even add the orgization like ARA with the star or what ever symbol you choose.

When us new folks read a reply we would know what experience level we were listening to. Jack C

I think you might be on to something here Jack. That would be instantly recognizable, solve the problems and still allow everyone to be in on the conversations.

How 'bout that moderators? Is it possible?

The more I think about it the more I like this idea. I wish it would have been instituted a long time ago. I came to this site for years before joining the NBRSA just to read and learn about short range competition. Perhaps I was naive, but I thought if you posted here it was because you competed and/or knew what you were talking about. It was years later that I learned (the hard way) that not everyone here competes and there are some bad armchair theorists, yet their advice is given right next to those who do compete and do have the knowledge which is backed up by statistics that are available to the public. If there had been a system in place like this suggested one, it would sure have been easier to tell what kind of advice I was reading.

Instead of stating "Tryingtobeabettergrouper" under your name put something to the effect that you are a member. I'm thinking of putting "Wonderfulguy" under mine. "Toknowmeistoloveme"?

My 2 Bits

As long as people seem to be getting things aired out in a civil manner. I put this to this thread. The Forum is labled Compitition Benchrest- ONLY. I see nothing in this thread that has anything to do with the act of or results of said Forum topic, This belongs in the General Discussion Forum. Those that wanted this separate Forum (I'm neutral) I would think have seen it revert to a catch all forum. I don't believe this was the intent but it has happend. My 2bits anyhow. .......and no I'm not a REGISTERD shooter but I do strive for the BEST that I can. ......And yes I know I shouldn't be posting on the CBO Forum because I haven't competed YET. With RESPECTS ....Roger T

This whole thread has no business in Competition Benchrest
....other than Wilbur said that the purpose of this forum was to prove that no matter what was tried, people would post in the wrong forum & others would get theur shorts in a knot about it.

Francis You Have To Play CYA Everytime You Post

Must be a reason for this. I'm in favor of ending this Subject again. Snow must be deep for some of you.

If you read between the lines or after the lines you'll see that I said:

That last line was the crux of my message.

And Roger is right. This whole thread has no business in Competition Benchrest

This is a perfect example why i shouldn't be allowed to post on BC until you get at least 500 post. Jack C

You know how to shot Holton. Will we see you there in August for the IBS Score Nationals?

Ohhhhhhh and the mirage that I love will be there as well? Yes, I'll be there if school hasn't started yet, first day hasn't been posted yet, at least not for the bus drivers.

Was hoping to attend the National this year, but my school starts Aug 23. Dan, will you shoot a few extra X's for me?

Bummed,
Keith

I sure will Keith if I'm able to go, but we'll have plenty of time to talk about it before then. I've shot there before, it is a nice range in a beautiful setting but, the mirage at 200 can be a real killer, as in I can't see the damn target. Looking foreword to April at Gallatin.
